For the price you get enough food to feed 4. They are always on point, food is always good. The wait and long line is for a reason. I know what I'm getting into so I don't mind waiting. I forgot to take pictures before I ate. I'm to full to set a plate. Lol. 10 stars
The food is crack honestly truly. I don't go here often as I'd like to. it was like 10 years ago since I've been here from May this year. The food is so damn good i would cry with every bite. but most importantly they are the only Haitian restaurant that overflows your plate / takeout and charge you cheap. after all these years they need to increase their price even more fr. the only con is the long wait in line so brace yourself. but it's very understandable that the wait is so long. that's the only restaurant i find it acceptable.
The food is good, there have been a lot of improvement on that part, real good Haitian food. They have different types of bread and patties that are delicious. Unfortunately if you go to get food , prepare for a long wait. The servers take their time, very slow. This place is very loud, people talk any type most are unpleasant of conversation there, owner and guess included. Too much talking and disorganization. Could be better.
The food is great . But the staff needs to work on customer service, have some type of urgency when distributing the food cuz the lines get long. Create a number system so they can call the customer when the food is Ready. For a restaurant that’s been there for or long time, they need to evolve. That is all .
Update: I had to come back and update. They have very much improved. The ladies are a lot nicer but they need a better system to fix the long line prob. The food is very delicious and the portions are out of this world. I couldn't wait, forgot to take the pic first. That's how much that was left of a medium plate with meatballs 3, after I took some and hubby took some, not even half. "Boulets" are a must try, don't let the size scare you. 1st post: The food is good and you get nice portion, but the customer service is unacceptable. There's a long line of people waiting but the ladies serving just stand there talking, arguing amongst themselves. So unprofessional! Want to add there was at least 5 ladies in there but only one was serving. Did I mention there was a line?!
Idk even know what to say. The portions are horrible. One time they gave me four pieces of oxtails! They covered it up with a salad with it, which is rare that they ever even have. The inconsistency of the menu is ridiculous. The wait time be longer then being at the DMV on a Monday morning. I'm surprised that people don't pass out from hunger. IDK if the food is worth the wait and the horrid service. I only go to this spot when I don't have a choice. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have the customers form a line!!!!!! Need new staff! To bad I don't have pics
The 5 stars are for the food. Trust me they won't fail you on that. But if you really starving and in hurry please DO NOT GO THERE loll also they don't take cards, only ca$h, and reservation on the phone isn't really help unless you wanna know what's in the menu. I just spare you some quality times right now ... You welcome
Love kals bakery but always packed with people. Sometimes it takes a while to get served. And some of the women that works there just watch you. Sometimes I feel like am begging to be served.
My parents grew up in this neighborhood. We moved before I could ever establish myself in it. One of the only things I remember before moving out of New York was the haitian bread we would get at the bakery that my grandmother would get. It took me almost 16 years to figure out the location when I finally became old enough to find it myself. The taste is as good as I remember from 2002.
The food is always delicious and the portions are huge! Don't be turned away by the line.. it's there for a reason and the reason is because it's worth it!
