Kanpai 2

For somebody that does typically not enjoy raw fish, i decided to try the Sashimi salad and i must say.. it was amazing! Both visually appealing and incredibly tasty. I am looking forward to working through the menu. The atmosphere was wonderful and asthetically pleasing. Definitely recommend trying Kanpai 2

I am not a complainer by my nature and have never written a bad review until tonight.. This was a terrible experience from the beginning to the end. Couldn’t order simple salmon hand roll because there is absolutely no substitute or adjustment to the any menu items! Dirty restroom, unfriendly service. Ordered king crab hand roll and decided to unwrap only to see cheap crab sticks instead of the real crab meat as advertised. So unfortunate! Wasted time and money!

We wanted to try the new place after eating at both Izumi's and Kanpai Izakaya first. We went on a Friday night and it was pretty dead in there but they had only reopened a month ago. Nice atmosphere inside with some remodeling done. Same menu as Kanpai Izakaya from what I could tell. Food was tasty and seemed close to the mother restaurant although I did not get the exact same thing. Maybe not quite as good but hard to tell. Service was friendly but they got a few things wrong in our order and we just accepted them because the food took a long time to come out even though they were almost empty. No offer to compensate or much regret about it. Low salt soy sauce was hard to get and I ran out in the middle of my meal. Same issue at the Izumi's meal when we were there. I tried adding the regular to my bowl and it was way too salty kind of putting a kink in that part of the experience. Get some low sodium sauce in bottles at the table when someone wants it. If you are not used to a lot of salt it's gross. Over all it was good, but I will probably go to the original one from now on to get the best experience. Maybe they will improve over time. Would of been nice to comp one of the mistakes they made. Still gave a 20% tips because the server was friendly. Although seemed like she was in a hurry but there was hardly anyone in the place.

This place is Japanese/Korean. Sushi is so fresh and delicious. Finally tried some Korean items and was quite pleased. Bonus is having a great restaurant in the city with a parking lot in back. Izumis used to be here.

Japanese chef very professional. Good service. Uni recommend but little high price 9/pice.

Stopped by for a quick bite. Service was great, sushi was flavorful and very fresh.
