Affiliated with Shotokan Karate of America (SKA) a nonprofit organization teaching traditional Karate-do since 1955.
Our aim is to build strength of mind and body with emphasis on self-confidence, willpower, character, and the ability to defend oneself in time of conflict.

There is no charge during a reasonable trial period of a week or so. After that you must become a club member in order to practice.
Club dues: $50 per month. All memberships are month to month. There are no contracts.
National dues: $75 for the first year. You must become a member of Shotokan Karate of America (SKA), which costs $75 for the first year. SKA membership entitles you to test for rank, attend special trainings, & (from time to time) to participate in other events. Membership in SKA includes a membership card, the SKA New Member Handbook, a subscription to the SHOTOKAN bi-monthly newsletter, and reciprocity with hundreds of other dojos world-wide.
The Kansas City Shotokan Karate Club dojo features:
+ Started in 1966, we are one of the oldest groups in the Midwest.
+ Winner of SKA's Midwest Dojo of the Year award.
+ Highest caliber instruction.
+ Senior instructors have a minimum of 10 years teaching experience.
+ No experience is necessary. Anyone 16 years of age or older is welcome to join in practices. You may observe or participate (much more fun!).
+ No long-term contracts -- join SKA and pay dojo dues at the first of each month.
+ Approximately 2,800 square feet of natural wood floor suspended on thick rubber shock absorbers, it feels great!
+ Separate men's and women's shower and dressing areas.
