Great food and amazing environment. Will highly recommend their sushi. I did not have a chance to try their soup yet, but my friend had the lobster crab and I heard it was off the chain. So it’s usually hard to get a table there so be sure to look ahead and book your reservation. Definitely worth it. Octopus delicious. Caribbean roll had a kick to it with the right combination of everything.
This was the first Japanese restaurant we tried in Houston, restaurant was still very busy on a weekday afternoon. Fish/ingredients are fresh, the toro uni caviar sushi was really good, will totally come back just for that. Our server Edward was very attentive and nice. Overall, great value for money.
Excellent food and service. The fish is so fresh, flavorful and prepared perfectly. We had a little bit of everything and enjoyed it all. Service was prompt but not rushed. The dining room has a very calm, welcoming vibe. Highly recommend! Vegetarian options: Have several vegetarian/vegan options that are highlighted.
We happened upon Kata Robata by chance and it ended up being a highlight of our trip to Houston. The atmosphere felt comfortable, trendy, and lively. Employees looked like they enjoyed working there- I noticed many genuine-looking smiles as they interacted with and helped each other. Staff that weren't our servers also interacted pleasantly with us. Music was great - enough to provide interest but not be overpowering or distracting. The booth that we were seated at was surprisingly cushy and I hated to leave it at the end of the meal! Of course none of that matters if the food isn't good. We didn't have a single thing that night that wasn't incredible. The fish was fresh and of good quality. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked. I'll dream fondly of the fatty tuna for the foreseeable future. Our server, Khan, was a patient and informative guide through the menu. He provided recommendations and happily answered any questions we had. His advice to end the meal on the miso lobster mac and cheese was spot on! This was an excellent close to our vacation and I hope to return next time I'm in town.
Great place for dinner, but you need to do a reservation in advance, otherwise, waiting list is about 40 minutes. We got for starters salad and yellow tale as it was suggested by our awesome waitress. It was our first time there and we decided to trust all recommendations. So, we didn't regret. As a main course we got sushi and ramen which is can be fort can be for two people. As a dessert banana. Thank you for the delicious food and a great evening! Vegetarian options: Awesome vegetarian options, their salad for a starter is so good! Parking: Plenty of parking spots
Pretty good sushi and excellent service. First time here for me and the family and we basically ordered family style so we could sample multiple dishes. Nothing specific I would recommend, or eat again, just happy with it all.
I had some expectations about this restaurant because most reviews said that one of the best Japanese restaurants in Houston. Kata Robata did not disappoint me, so I was so glad to visit the restaurant. I ordered the basic course including Chef’s Sashimi and others. The sashimi qualities were so good, but a little bit fatty and creamy to my husband. Ordering time had limitations due to the restaurant's operating time. So I had to order early and fast. However, we were so satisfied with all kinds of dishes, services, and vibes! Every server is so kind and has great services even though very busy restaurant.

One of my favorite sushi and Japanese restaurant in Houston. They serve up amazing dishes and high grade sushi. This place is also pack for lunch and dinner so reserve on the Resy app. You will not be disappointed here. A must try place if you haven’t been.
I had a great time coming into this place with a friend for dinner last night. It was our first time and the ambiance, service and food were 5/5! Their menu was so fresh, flavorful and authentic. I was also happy to learn they have dishes with truffle, among others that other places don’t. Do yourself a favor and try this place, treat yourself
