A fantastically warm and close environment. It can be a bit noisy, but if you're in the mood for an active and fast restaurant this is the place to go. They brought our order out fast and it tasted amazing. The presentation was a feast for the eyes. We enjoyed how nice our server was, she was expedient with refills and with taking down new items to bring us. We didn't catch her name but she had blonde and brown hair and did a great job. We also got several desserts that came quickly after the end of the meal and the sweetness was a great counter after all the sushi we ate. Their menu is expansive with a lot of options to choose from and will definitely be coming back to try something new.
Great food. Fresh, well presented, and bursting with delicious flavors. Fun vibe has been created with the edgy decor and upbeat music. Good prices for this area of town.Food: 5/5
I had a basil beef plate and it was good the portion size of meat was small for what it was but the flavor was nice. The sushi my Girlfriend had and she was happy with it but wasn't impressed. Quick lunch and was happy.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
I give it three stars because the server was unfriendly, and the food looks good but doesn’t taste that good. Their seaweed is very chewy, and the tempura is mostly batter without much taste. I like that there’s a weekend happy hour all day and their mango crab hoppers were very tasty.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
Let me start off by saying the parking is a pain, so if you don’t mind street parking, lot filled up pretty quick. Restaurant interior vibe was nice, not too cold & service was ok, although she did miss an item that was ordered but it’s cool. Ordered the ika salad, spider hand roll which in my opinion wasn’t the best I’ve had nor was it the worst. Just a little dry for me, masago sushi was good. I also ordered the spicy tonkotsu.. spice was perfect but it needed more flavor, I did LOVE the bamboo shoots that was added in and there was tons. The egg was ok, I didn’t touch the pork chashu so I can’t confirm or deny it was good.. but the mochi wasn’t the highlight of the meal. It tasted old, the soft doughy mochi itself was crumbly and dry, ice cream inside was fine but other than that I enjoyed the meal.
The food was good . The only thing I didn’t like as much was the tempura. The badder was too thick in my opinion. The drinks were good pink lichee. I ordered the tamago I thought the egg to rice ratio was way off but the egg was delicious. I also ordered the vegetable yakisoba. The flavor was a little mild but ok overall. My friend ordered some meat dish and appetizer. He said it was delicious.
Food and drinks were great and they came out really fast! Our usual spot is closed on Mondays and so we gave Aka a try and did not regret it. First time having a box sake Takara Nigori and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely coming back for our sushi cravings.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: No
First time visiting Aka Sushi House for the reverse happy hour 9pm - 10:30pm. The cocktails were pretty good! We ordered a myriad of things, including hamachi and tuna samplers, negihama and kamikaze rolls, and tako sonomuno and tempura calamari appetizers. My only real gripe with this was the amount of octopus in our appetizer. We only had 4 pieces in an, otherwise, bowl full of cucumbers. It was really good, but I expected a little bit more. The happy hour pricing is pretty great and all the food was delicious! I would suggest making a reservation if you're coming late at night though. They only take reservations 3 hours in advance from what I was told. The reverse happy hour had me waiting about 15 minutes and they close the kitchen a little bit before their formal closing time. So come prepared with an idea for what you want to order!
Five stars for the sashimi alone! Salmon sashimi was so tender, basically melts in your mouth some of the best sashimi we've ever had. Beef ribeye dish was tender and very flavorful without being overwhelming. Service was prompt, polite, and very attentive.
Stopped in here for dinner with coworkers. Picked this sushi restaurant because of all the good reviews. Now we know why. The fish is cut thick. Each slice of sashimi was super generous, served at the perfect temperature and most importantly it was delicious. The dragon and godzilla rolls were equally awesome. I couldn't believe how well a dorito chip goes with sushi. Soft shell crab was my favorite appetizer. Top of the evening with tofu cheesecake. Soft, creamy, tasty and oh so satisfying!! On a Monday night it was busy but it would be worth the wait if you go on any night!
