After suffering for 15+ years with endometriosis and doctors who could not adequately treat me or even believe me, Dr. Huang gave me a whole new lease on life. She listens, validates, and heals. I have been in remission from severe endometriosis since 2018 and counting thanks to her! I have a future now, when prior to finding a surgeon like her, I was on a fast track to hardly having any sort of life.
Long long long wait to see her, then got cancelled on the last minute. I am arranged to be wait another 1 month. Super unhappy about this arrangement. So sadly that NYC area doesn’t have enough good doctors for endometriosis. As a result, I have to wait half a year to be seen. What a shame
Excellent doctor. I felt very taken care of leading up to, during, and after my surgery with Dr. Huang. Very compassionate doctor, and on the day of surgery I felt I was in excellent hands with her and her team. She visited me in post-op as well, and was also very helpful in my follow-up appointment 1.5 weeks after.
Dr. Huang was great, I did not need or use pain killers after my robotic surgery. Adam, her PA is the best! Very responsive and patient. My overall experience with everyone in the office was beyond satisfactory. I highly recommend Dr. Huang and her amazing staff for any GYN or surgical needs.
I came to Dr. Huang, after a bad experience with another doctor, to treat my fibroids. Upon meeting with her, I learned that they had grown to be much bigger then I imagined. Fortunately, Dr. Huang and Adam her assistant, were supportive and professional from start to finish! Dr. Huang will always be honest with you, and she is competent in her skills as a surgeon. For anyone concerned about their fibroids being larger then normal, I would implore you to please have a consultation with her. She has a five star rating for a reason!
Dr. Huang was absolutely amazing...she had me do an MRI prior to my consult, which I loved because she pulled up the images during the consult and showed me what was wrong. At the same time she explained to me what she would do in order to correct the problems that I currently have. She was very thorough, allowed me to ask as many questions as I deemed necessary. She was not rushed, she didn't prescribe me unnecessary medications, she didnt sugarcoat anything. She is a surgeon and will not put you on medications that will do more harm than good in the long run. Finally a physician that took the time to listen to me and took my thoughts, concerns and desires into consideration. In my opinion, she truly cares and I'm very happy to be under her care.
I had a very poor experience with Dr. Kathy Huang. I found her to be very rushed and less than professional. I’m a Registered Nurse with stage IV Endometriosis. She saw me for an initial consultation. She spent less than ten minutes with me. She didn’t even perform a medical exam - but yet said she’d perform an exploratory laporotomy on me. She wasn’t knowledgeable about current medications available for Endometriosis pain. I travelled a distance to see her. What a mistake! It was a waste of my valuable time. She should be ashamed of herself for taking my copayment. And the fact that she’s Director of NYU’s Endometriosis Center is comical. I was extremely underwhelmed.
At the 11th hour, I switched my surgery to Dr. Huang from Dr. Tessler, who is lovely. Although the two women work in the same office - under one roof - they and their staff, included could not be more different. As I sit here typing - with an incisional hernia from my procedure w/ Dr. Huang that requires surgical repair - I am heart broken and so incredibly disappointed. In person, Dr. Huang is relatively charming, but the minute she walks away, you are left in the hands of her aloof staff. All emails and calls to her are filtered through someone else, such as one of her clinical staff who take their sweet time and, often, provide incorrect and shoddy medical advice.
AMAZING doctor and surgeon!!! I went to her after 5 prominent ob/gyn's told me that a myomectomy was off the table for me and my only option was a hysterectomy. Not once did she mention that option to me. Her exact words after reviewing my MRI and Ultrasound were "you're fibroids are not an issue, I've removed bigger." Everyone in her office was super helpful, and answered every single question I had. She removed 5 large fibroids on August 12, 2016 and I am now 5 days post surgery and recovering very nicely with minimal discomfort. I highly recommend her. She is a very skilled surgeon with a great reputation - she is known as one of the best doctors in removing fibroids. Don't get a hysterectomy - go see her!
I had a very bad experience with Dr. Huang. She was very rushed, cold and not compassionate at all! I originally had this procedure scheduled with another specialist at NY Presbyterian, but went with the advice of my highly respected GYN, cancelled my procedure with NY Presbyterian and went with Dr. Huang instead. Boy was that a mistake! I should've followed my gut at the consultation when she was nonchalant and rushed. Her assistant , however, continued following up with me and assuaged my concerns at the time. A date also opened up sooner than anticipated and I was eager to get it done due to the severity of my symptoms. I should have just suppressed and waited. After my procedure, I notice that the sutures were not dissolving and that they were being "spit" out. I learned later that this was a sign of my body rejecting the sutures and that it should have been heeded. When I brought to her attention that the sutures were not dissolving at my 2 weeks post op appt, she coldly expressed that "they were way in there" and that she could do nothing about it and walked out. I stormed out in disbelief and dismay. I made an appointment with my primary care provider as well as a plastic surgeon in following days just to be sure. They both confirmed that Dr. Huang should have been more attentive and just removed the sutures. A month later, the stitches were still in there and by then it was painful! Her assistant finally applied a local anesthetic and pulled the sutures right out in less than 15 minutes. By then, because the sutures had sat in my incisions way too long without any intervention or attempt to resolve before this point, the damage has already been done. I have good evidence of this because the suture in one of my other wounds came out a few days after my procedure upon removal of the bandages. That one healed fine. I now have to go to a plastic surgeon for the disastrous scars left. In any event, I felt that it was my duty to post about this experience. A myomectomy is a very intricate procedure and it is way too important to have a physician perform it that's cold, inattentive and fail to go above and beyond at pre and post op. Yes, providers can have all of the credentials in the world. However, if they fail to do everything possible to ensure your full recovery flawlessly, none of that means anything! I did my research on this provider and couldn't find anything on her personally, so I went ahead anyway. I'm very sorry I did. I cannot UNRECOMMEND this doctor enough.
