As for a new experience I'd say you've got to try it. I'll admit that Kava is a acquired taste and can be "different", but pus that aside and just try something out of your comfort zone.

First time trying Kava. Nice atmosphere, very knowledgeable staff. Slightly pricey, not unlike a typical alcohol bar in the city. But I would recommend for first timers.

If I had a place to call my "hang out" spot in NY this would qualify for it for sure. I'm usually in and out of the city pretty early and having a place to chill and people watch by 10AM is pretty cool, and not stumbling out of there drunk is the best part. Go here, check it out!
