East Village Organic

LOVE their varieties and freshness on all produce and groceries. Staff is decently friendly. Smoothies and juices are great. But holy cow are the prices marked up. I can barely make it out with the bare essential groceries for under $100.

I love grocery shopping here. It’s small, well-stocked, and isn’t nearly as crowded as other stores in the area. They have a huge selection of vegan/DF/GF options, as well as a wide variety of well-stocked produce. However, 3 out of the 4 times I’ve been here, the checkout staff was rude to me and other guests. I looked through their Google reviews and found that many others have had this experience at East Village Organic. It’s unfortunate, but not enough to make me stop shopping here yet…

Great for bulk and nuts. The bulk nuts taste FRESH unlike many other stores. Reasonable prices.

I have to agree with the last review. I’ve been supporting this small neighborhood community market for years.. however, today Ali asked me to not come back. He is back of the house and a truly hard worker. I believe his intention was good. As he is protective of the female staff. I did not make a scene today as I told I was. I simply communicated and asked how to resolve an issue that arose earlier. I had waited 20 minutes for a juice.. I was fine with either outcome. And that’s when a girl with a blue shirt raised her voice at me. My issue had already been resolved and then it escalated to me receiving miserable projection from their staff. Completely uncalled, but, please go and drop money for your health in exchange for this type of client experience. I do not think they are conscious of how medieval their order put in for juice and smoothies creates stress on their client. Wait times for an order can be 15-45 minutes at times. East village organic You are welcome for this honest feedback- Dont trust the soups- they advertise as gluten free. But they’re not. That’s a sign folks… On a weekly basis- I was dropping about 200 bucks on fresh juice. And I will stop referring my friends here. And to the manager of this place… I’m glad I will no longer have to endure you calling me honey, darling, babe… If you are a person of color Be extra aware- our money counts

Love this place! As a health fanatic, I greatly appreciate all of the local/organic ingredients. And the smoothie bar is great too!

Crisp, ripe, and fresh organic produce! Delicious smoothies made to order. I cannot recommend this place enough. The store is clean, and displays are set up perfectly!

I have been a regular customer of EVO for quite some time. I cannot say better things about the wonderful East Village gem. Ali is a warm and wonderful owner and I wholeheartedly feel that our day is better when we and btw, the only green juice that my children will drink! stop by. Sadly, I have seen too many very, uh hmmm, let say "Karens" coming in to the store lately making outlandish requests and being incredibly rude and disrespectful to all the staff to comply with their whims for fairy dust and unicorn horns for their smoothies and acai bowls. I hope that people remember to be kind, that we are part of a community, and that we up lift one another. Thank you EVO.

I have been going to East Village Organic for some years now. I like the selection and I spend at least $150-$250 every time I go there. Unfortunately I have been treated badly every time I go there. The girls at the counter look at me as if I came from Mars when I dare to ask where the Jasmine tea is and if they have brewers yeast. They answer with distain that they do not know. When I waited for them to count out the sanwitches that they had, the girl behind the counter said "I'm not comfortable with you waiting for the sandwitches and looking at me." I was waiting for the sandwitches so that I can buy them. Me standing there bothered no one. The man behing the juice bar screamed at me to get out. It was horrible. I bought $167 worth that day and this will be my last time ever going to this horrible place. They abuse you for buying their merchandise. Their behavior is absolutely disgusting.

Nice, small store..some things are better than whole foods and some items are different so that's definitely makes it a good grocery shopping stop.
