If you're going to visit your child's graduation at Hunter but, arrive late, I suggest that the Playhouse is the perfect place to go. Sure you won't be seeing it within the actual site but, it is streamed live in the big screen of the Playhouse which personally makes it easier to see what's going on, and more comfortable than standing or sitting cramped with a ton of other proud family members who constantly move around like eel's.
