I put off getting a hearing aid until a friend at church mentioned she had just gotten hearing aids. I was amazed at how unnoticeable they were. She told me how much she liked Ann Rhoten and how pleased she was with her hearing aids. My experience was enjoyable and I felt like I finally understood my situation, since Ann took time to explain everything and answer all of my questions. I chose a model that I can use with my iPhone and have really liked that functionality. I am recommending Kentucky Audiology and Tinnitus Services to friends.

I have struggled with my hearing for at least 10 years. I went to another hearing clinic years ago and the experience so turned me off that I just put off getting the hearing aides for several more years. Recently my hearing had gotten to the point that is was very difficult at work to understand anyone and it was becoming so embarrassing because I was constantly asking people to repeat themselves. Or, even worse, I would PRETEND I heard what someone said and smile and shake my head! For all I knew, they might have told me their dog died and I just smiled like an idiot and shook my head :( I decided on Dr Rhoten because of these reviews. I wanted someone to take their time with me to explain everything that was going on with my hearing loss and most of all, someone who wouldn’t “judge” me when I told them one of the reasons I struggled with getting hearing aides was psychological - to me it affirmed that I was “old” and I wanted NO ONE to know I had them. May seem silly but it was the truth and I wanted a Dr I could be blunt with. Well I found her! Dr Rhoten was VERY thorough in her exam and then spent as much time as I needed to answer my questions (and I had a bunch!). I also felt comfortable telling her about my purely emotional reasons for not wanting to get hearing aides and she did not treat me as if my feelings were silly. I now have my hearing aides and life is good! I told her how much going to meetings used to STRESS ME OUT because I knew I would be straining so hard to try to hear. The aides she suggested for me are so comfortable that I honestly forget I have them in!! While I am not running around town saying “hey everyone, check out my hearing aides!”, I am so happy that I can finally hear so clearly that I just don’t care if anyone discovers I have them. And I would tell anyone who thinks they need them to go see Dr Rhoten!

Annie has been a God Send for me. Before I even made it to her office she took my hand and helped me down a positive path to deal with my Tinnitus. Mine was a sudden onset. I was searching the internet for any and all help when I found Annie. She supported me while I worked with Workers Comp to accept my case. My first visit with her and a young lady for U of L was a breath of fresh air. She gave me hope and a direction to combat my tinnitus. Friendly atmosphere, very personable and exudes confidence that I was able to embrace. My Tinnitus came on very suddenly and affected many parts of my daily life. Having Annie in my corner has helped me deal with this new purgatory.

A short poem to describe my experience with Dr. Anne, if you will: All the ringing, the buzzing, the hissing, Made me wonder what I was missing. I test drove some aids, And was really amazed. One thing is finally clear: I now can listen and actually hear. Shakespeare it isn't, but the point is that Dr. Anne is an expert and a professional and she truly changed things for the better in my case.

Anne Rhoten is a talented and caring audiologist who I highly recommend! She always provided us with efficient, one on one attention and I was never asked to wait for an appointment. We were seen on time or ahead of schedule for every visit. Anne embraces technology and fitted me with hearing aids that connect wirelessly to my phone, making phone conversations crystal clear again. I also have mild tinnitus and Anne took time to discuss this with me and help me to understand the causes and treatment for my condition that I have had for more than ten years!
