Zero start as I had bad experience with this worker. As we see his face and his sight toward me give an impression that I'm his enemy than customer!! Unbelievable strange worker. All that because I asked him nicely you have to wear gloves as i saw him fixing the frozen items and putting them in the refrigerator by his bare hands, there was some sale such as if you purchase 4 items for 10$, then I asked him to make sure can i buy two for 5$ as 4 for 10$, then he said in uneducated ridiculous way NO as only 4 for 10$, then the funny worker said we mentioned that on the big banner sale Menu, then I said doesn't make sense, are you guys playing with the customers or??. THAT'S DISRESPECT AND CHEAT. Then I said you have to say that on the sign to let the customer knows that before going to the cashier! as it is confusion and the customer think one item for 2.5$ or two for 5$ as all stores I used to buy from them do that and by sense too it should be like that!, It doesn't say any on your sign. Thus you have to mention it on this sign the one you put it on the fridge front of the item to let the customer knows before going to the cashier as I shouldn't or I don't have to read your big banner sale menu to know that!.. That's hustle!. After and while I was shopping i met him again with his amazing twisted face or he wanna to retaliate from me because I did crime for what i mentioned above!. Hey worker I've been in this neighborhood for yrs maybe before you being hired !!!.. Guys the good thing that the cashier was wearing gloves !. In the end NO MORE KEY FOOD I mean KEY RUDE!.
Check your receipts! Got charged 4x more. Story: I got 2.5 pounds of bananas and the checkout scale said they were 11 pounds. They just shrugged it off and was unapologetic when I called them out on it, which makes it seem like this happens often. Ignorance at best, complicit at worst. See pics:
Very clean, nice environment but very very wasteful practices. Unsustainable with excessive packaging and excessive supply. An example: 15+ pumpkin pies available in July. We all know they’re going to get thrown out. Another example, all of their bananas were in plastic wrapping. Do better! Waste less! Be environmentally conscious! It’s good that they have a variety of international crops/goods.
Very convenient they have everything you might need plus parking
Nice big Super Market for your general food pick-up. This place has gotten better over time. That's a good thing because there was a time you wasn't so glad to come here. Nowadays I don't mind coming here.
I came here to kill time before dinner and to pick up groceries. The store was brightly light and looked clean. The aisles were a bit narrow and some items were in random areas. For example, I found fresh mozzarella balls in the middle of the aisle instead of being with the rest of the cheese in the fridge. I didn't see anyone in the store replenishing items. They had three cashiers and they were okay. I had to keep repeating myself because he wasn't paying attention.
About five minutes ago I had a very awkward and concerning interaction with employees they were talking amongst themselves saying “I don’t know why anyone even shops here “ “there’s a grocery store up the street much cleaner and more organized than here “. This is by far a grocery store for last minute items, but to employee people who are referring your customers to other another company and have nothing nice to say is unfortunate. Now that I know about this new grocery store I will no longer be shopping with your rude and unpleasant staff. thank you
food and produce here is over priced and terrible quality. Asparagus was wrinkly and dry for $8 a lb, and ground beef that was "fresh" 3 days before sell by date smelled funky when we opened it to cook that evening. Cooked with it anyways and it tasted how it smelled. gross
It's never crowded there is plenty parking. The deli is practical and some good quality Italian salami' s lots to choose from.Good environment overall. Only pro I guess is it's over stocked.
Although this Key Food looks a bit old and tired it has decent produce. Some products such as the kombucha is $1 more than other places but they have a good variety of different products. No too much specialty items but it is Grand St in Brooklyn. Staff are friendly, courteous and professional and that enhances a shopping experience. I will definitely visit again.
