Brian is very thorough and explains what he's doing and why. Very easy to work with. Reasonably priced work. Kept me informed every step of the engine building process. I would recommend them to any one of my friends/family.

My 2008 wrangler blew a head gasket. I couldnt afford $1000 in labor so I had no choice but to take it on myself. I immediately began searching for a machine shop that specializes in automotive/engines etc. I found King Machine shop on google, and so I called to pick brains and get an idea on pricing.
I spoke with Brian on the phone, where he was very professional and took time to explain pricing and the best route for me. I was looking to have the pair of heads (v6) checked for cracks and warpage, cleaned, surfaced, and replace the seals, maybe a valve job if it needs it. I explained that I didnt have the heads off yet but would bring them in once theyre uninstalled.
Once I got them off, I brought them down on Dec 27th. I met Brian and he took time to explain the pricing again (my big concern was cost and quality). He recommended pressure check for cracks and warpage, resurface them, leak check all the valves (and get a % of sealing for each), then determine if it needs a valve job or not, he'd replace the valve seals if it didnt need the valve job. I also had a broken exhaust manifold bolt that he added to the list. I left that day after dropping off the heart of my baby (my wrangler) feeling like I was in good hands.
Boy, was I right! I got a call the next day saying my heads were ready, they didnt need the valve job at all. Not only that, he replaced all 4 freeze plugs (one was backing out) at little to no cost. I got out of there for $275 for both cylinder heads to be cleaned, inspected, pressure checked, leak tested valves, new seals, new freeze plugs, resurfaced, rebuilt and have that broken bolt extracted IN ONE DAY DURING CHRISTMAS TIME!!!
What a steal!
I told my coworkers at the (Harley Davidson) shop i work at and they were all amazed at the price I got out the door for.
I also want to add, Kings Machine wasnt just bored with nothing to do, he understood my vehicle was down and i needed some serious turn around time. He told me they usually put heads and minor machine work ahead of the motor rebuilds (he had 7 motors being built in there).
If you are looking for a shop to have ANY machine work or motor rebuilding I would STRONGLY recommend King's!
PS support family owned businesses.
Thank you Brian, you made a life long customer.
