They have really delicious clay pot rice! The bottom layer was perfectly burnt to a crisp. The meat was delicious. Service was great. Portion is slightly small. They didn’t have everything on the menu. If you get takeout you’re getting the entire clay pot with a deposit of $4 that you get back when you return the clay pot.
3/23/22 visit: Had the spare rib clay pot rice which on the menu in English is actually "rice casserole spare ribs with black bean sauce." Was good but I like the one at Noodle Village better. Also note that as of my visit, they are cash only and not doing dine in, only take out. They still serve the clay pot rice in a clay pot for take out, so they take a $3 deposit and give it back to you when you return the pot. 4/12/22: Had the "Roast pork over rice" non crispy, 4.25*, "Roast pig over rice" crispy, 4.5*
I had this fantastic meal there picture shown and it was less than $20! I never had such a filling meal for such a low price! We randomly picked it, as the exterior was more modern and clean looking than the immediate neighboring stores. We were immediately taken care of, after entering. Tables pushed together there were 5 of us, cups of iced water given, and a menu in each of our hands. Friendly staff and amazing quality! It'd be hard to best this standard, anywhere in Chinatown - or the world for that matter! Cannot recommend it enough!
Congee with dry squid and jellyfish was so delicious. It had a fresh feel to it. I was initially skeptical but no regrets here. I don’t mind that it’s only takeout.
This place is not for din in. I really like the duck. You should try it. The skin of duck is crispy and the meat is juicy. The chicken and pork are good but not that amazing. I would say the 1 star minus is because of the environment. Anyway, the price is cheap enough for me to ignore the existence of environment or service.Dine in: NoTakeout: Yes
I would give a solid 4. The restaurant is so clean compared to others in Chinatown. It is definitely a plus. The food is good and the price is affordable. I tried steam rice roll, it is just a little above average. The best steam rice roll is in Brooklyn, in my opinion. But that place is not as clean as you may anticipate.
Maybe a little pricey ? for take out but was really good. Especially the beef chow fun, no gravy. "gravy"? Other one is roast duck leg over rice. Pretty good. Vegetarian options: Didn't see vegetables on the menu, but they're usually included on the side of any meat dish.
My family have been coming in here for years now. It’s always busy here but they work fast. We always get the roast pork and roast pig. We ask for the fatty pieces for the roast pork but we don’t always get it. Their honey sauce is good on rice. Service is ok here and the restaurant is clean. Want to try out their clay pot rice though.
2 years later, I had another need to re-key locks and tech Lower East Locksmith inc came out again. Fast, communicative and reasonable with his price. Ended up changing several locks and he did great job on all of them.
We came on a Sunday morning at 10am expecting a dim sum crowd, but the place was empty. We got a congee, noodle soup, fried fritter rice noodle rolls with fish, and this wasabi-infused fried mushrooms dish - this last one was delicious and we only ordered it after seeing it listed as a chef's special on the wall. Rice noodle rolls seem to be a specialty. Overall pretty delicious!
