Love the decors, it's very homey. Didn't look like a restaurant from the outside, felt like it's a makeshift of a home to a restaurant. Went there for the first time for a holiday dinner with coworkers. A coworker organized the meal plan -prix fixe menu and they were delicious. Loved all the food choices. There were about 10-15 of us for dinner and we got the second floor all for ourselves. The decors of the place made me feel like I was in a one of the European countries which I haven't been to one. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I would recommend to check the place out and try their food selections. Make sure to make reservation for guaranteed space for your party in advance. Overall experience was very good.
Absolutely obsessed with this place. Beautifully decorated to be very cozy. Every bite of food was delicious and the tea was amazing. The service was wonderful and quick and it was also very reasonably priced at about $32 per person before tip. Highly recommend this place!!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: No
I love trying afternoon tea at different places. This was quaint place, like an old Victorian house, down to the rickety chairs you feel are going to fall apart any minute. Small selection of tea, that’s fine. I tried the most popular tea - the Paris tea, but it was eh. Service was decent, the gentleman doesn’t hover or rush you. But I was really disappointed in the food. The tea sandwiches were very tiny. They gave plenty of the open faced cucumber sandwich, but all I tasted was a little butter with a hint of cucumber on dry white bread. Some pieces I couldn’t even taste the butter, only the dry bread. The chicken salad honestly smelled like tuna to me, and even though the gentleman confirmed they don’t have tuna salad at all, I abstained. It was all bread anyway. The other 3 “sandwiches” the round bite sized ones were ok. There’s usually one that’s a standout, but I didn’t particularly enjoy any of them unfortunately. I liked how the chocolate cake wasn’t overly sweet, but it was really dry. The scones were small, but they were the best part.
Reason for 2 stars - Came here for an afternoon tea reservation. The waiter told us they are out of Paris tea which was one of the reasons we went there. We shared our disappointment about not having it and the waiter said they need to make their inventory better. Fine, happens, can happen anywhere. 10minutes later, another party comes and shares their disappointment about not having Paris tea either. The waiter goes - I'll make it happen for you. This seeming discrimination, hardly 10minutes apart really ruined our experience here. Outside of that - the food was good. The ambience felt very authentic and nicely done. The decor is really nice too
Wonderful spot for an high tea. The food was sparse but my friends and I came voraciously hungry so that could've been why. The hostesses and servers were very kind and friendly and made the experience so much better than some afternoon tea spots that are pretentious. Also fyi you're allotted an hour and a half to dine in.
Mother’s Day lunch - appropriately over the top and loads of fun. An entree + the tower of sandwiches and desserts + warm scones with clotted cream and jam. Heaven for two Anglophile mommies! Yum! We have to come back for just the high tea!
I came here to celebrate my birthday and am really between giving 3 or 4 stars. I would say the service when we first came in and the actual tea and food were great. The afternoon tea is very filling and a meal on its own. Also the tea is bottomless, we got the Paris and had about 3 kettles full of it. I have two complaints however. The first one is that while all the little nicknacks and the decor are cute, it’s clear no one regularly cleans the dining rooms. Even from 6 feet away from where I was sitting I could see the mountain of dust sitting on top of things. With all the stuff they have hanging and knowing all the dust and dirtiness on them it kinda grossed me out. We wanted to eat and drink as quickly as possible to get out before the dust started to collect on our food too. They need to clean the dining rooms and all the things hanging on the wall and window sills ASAP! My second complaint is after about 45 min of being there, my table and everyone else in our room were just forgotten about. We didn’t see any servers for about 30-45 min. My boyfriend had to walk around to find a server so we could pay and leave because no one was checking on us. When he found one, the servers were all sitting together talking. Overall, I would come back here for tea again as long as they do some cleaning or sit us in a cleaner room/outside.
my sister and i had a lovely time here! we didn’t realize how FULL we’d be after we left. the staff is excellent. they made sure my teapot was full i love tea so much.
Service was just impeccable. I loved the vibes the tea place had. The pastries and sandwiches were so yummy, and had vegetarian options : the tea was SOOOOO yummy. We got the earl grey tea it was so good. Since then I’ve been only drinking earl grey lol. I’ve had better overall tea time experiences. I’m not sure what the other tea places are like in New York, but the other place I’ve had tea was in San Francisco.
Came here for a baby shower and got the afternoon tea for 29.99, comes with tea and finger food. They have an option with entree for high tea. They have time seating for noon, 2 and 4. Disappointed they were out of 5 of maybe 15 teas. I’d recommend each individual order a different tea and everyone can try it since they refill it. The finger food was standard and snack size.
