Didn't know what to expect, honestly thought they might be stuffing a tortilla with sushi but no. It's basically an overstuffed sushi roll, delicious. I also like you can get it in a bowl and make it salad based instead of rice or go half and half. Pro tip, sign up with Ritual and save a total of $10, you'll get two $5 credits.
Such a unique and tastey meal. Service was very friendly and the food was great. We each got a different burrito and although some of the ingredients were the same they each has a very unique taste. The sumo was extremely filling. And the stuffed churros were amazing.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this place. After all, I had never heard of sushi burritos before. What I found was that the crossover between sushi and burrito actually works pretty well. I'm not sure I would prefer it over a great sushi place, but it's an experience worth having at least once. Definitely get dessert. We got the fried cheesecake and it was amazing!
Super cool little place with an interesting take on Asian cuisine! The sushi burrito was surprisingly good, but the avocado fries definitely stole the show! I totally recommend checking this place out for a quick bite to eat. There is also outdoor seating which is great for a beautiful Denver day.
This was my first time trying a sushi burrito. Was skeptical but figured I'd check it out. Basically you get a 2x sized roll but they make sure to stuff it full of the cheaper stuff. Wasn't for me but the service and quality was fine so not gonna knock them because it's not my thing. Next time I think I'll try a bowl.
I ordered one of the popular bowls I forget the name with salmon. It was so good! I love raw salmon and there was a ton of it. There was also some rock tuna. my friend had one of those burritos and she liked it but it was a little smaller than she thought it was going to be. The burritos are wrapped in nori seaweed, so they are definitely lighter and healthier than your average burrito. I will definitely go back!
Service was excellent, a great and friendly one-man show. Not your authentic Hawaiian poke but one of those newer, trendy poke bowl places. Not necessarily a bad thing, but people have different tastes. I didn't mind the flavor of the sauces and wakame salad on the poke. We had the chunky sumo poke bowl tuna tartare, salmon, imitation crab for $13 and the triple play fries komotodo fries, avocado fries, and portabella mushroom fries for $10. More than enough food to share for my sister and I, and very fairly priced for downtown Denver given the portion size. When the food came out, we were shocked with the value we were getting used to inflated prices in the city. The best: portabella fries! It's not slivers or small slices of mushroom. This is for true mushroom lovers. It's fried in a light tempura batter and served with a sriracha ranch, which is cool with a very slight kick. The avocado fries were also great, but it's definitely rich so be prepared for that texture and for your belly to get filled. It was a short walk from Buell theatre less than 10 mins, really only takes time because of the many lighted crosswalks and getting the food was fairly quick. We grabbed a bite to eat here after the musical while waiting for the crowd in the parking garage and traffic to die down. We'd definitely go back!
The burritos were decent, but it took them 30 minutes to give us our two burritos, they started serving other people after us until I walked up and asked where ours were and they said "oh you didn't get yours yet?" and that was pretty upsetting to hear. I recommend another lunch spot unless you just want to say you've had a pretty decent sushi burrito plain and simple.
Food tasted good for the price, and the service it was the dead hour between 6 and seven between happy hour and dinner rush was friendly as could be expected....but given the hype nothing to shout from the rooftops. Also the fish flesh was suspiciously bright-colored. I wonder what caused that?
The woman behind the counter was super nice and guided us through our first time! Never knew there was such a thing as a sushi burrito but now I know what I've been missing! Absolutely will come again. Great value and awesome quality.
