I guess I am spoiled. The food was ok. All polish food I eat at restaurants is compared to Polish Village Cafe. The food was ok. I got the golabki stuffed cabbage and the sauce is not what I am used to with the golabki. The potato cheese pierogies were good. The atmosphere is cool and laid back and the service was good.
Great old school polish restaurant with I believe a Ukrainian influence. Lunch was delicious, filling and affordable. Half the restaurant is a bar that wasn't staffed for lunch, maybe it draws a crowd at night or on weekends.
Very good polish food all homade a must go to for authentic old country cuisine
Excellent value for delicious Polish food at really good prices
Quaint, cozy, warm and welcoming! Agatha the waitress is awesome! The owner is the cook, and it shows in the quality of the meals they serve! Great B.L.T. for under $4. All the soups are fantastic! I'm partial to the duck soup czarnina. The dill pickle and vegetable soups round out my top 3. Can't go wrong at this truly authentic Polish restaurant!
You better come hungry! Very authentic food at a great price. Unassuming exterior, no frills interior and the best Polish food I've had in a while. My Polish wife and Father-in-law had the Krakus Plate which is a variety of Polish comfort foods while I had the potato pancakes. You get 5 thick pancakes that came off the grill moments before being set in front of me. They were outstanding! The other half of the building had a bar and dance floor. A sign says they have live Polish music every Saturday night and I bet this place is jumping then. If you enjoy authentic Polish food and are in Detroit then you should visit Krakus!
A true Hidden Gem in of all places, Detroit. Food was very delicious; don't know what Lord StainGod was reviewing because that review is Pure BS. I ordered 2 half order plates of pork chops and beef rolls, and my wife had the Polish Plate. Our friends had the Polish Plate and the Pork Hocks. Generous portions, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere. Agatha is a Pure Delight. Yes, we will return.
Amazing food. Service was great. A true gem in Hamtramck . great polish food
The meat perogies fried with onions and bacon were awesome. I didn't care for the fried fish, but the soup mushroom was really good, the cake was good also but small. I recommend for anyone who wants to get out and get some good eats.
Very authentic Polish cooking. Wife & I thourghly enjoyed our City Chicken chunks of lean Veal & Pork on a stick, rolled in bread crumbs, then baked in oven, just excellent !!! Good selection of dinner choices w/many sides to accomadate your entree. Dessert consisted of 3 different nalesniki Polish crapees , blueberry, cherry, & sweet cheese. Service as always is excellent.
