A first time visit for us and was thrilled we stumbled upon la madeleine. The service was wonderful from the moment t we walked in the door and both of us were very happy with our sandwiches. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to enter is VERY narrow… MIGHT fit a manual but not a PWC. Inside is spacious and has accessible bathroom
I rethought this review because I am in the service industry myself but NO, I could not let this slide. The service was great I appreciated that but my pasty I ordered for desert to take home is where they lost me. I order these every time I am at La Madeleine and have not ever once had a problem until I went to this location in particular. I took one bite and it went straight in the trash can, tasted very bad and spoiled. Like it had been defrosted then froze twice before having out to be served. The color and presentation threw me off to begin with but when I took that bite I almost gagged.
This was one of the strangest restaurant experience I've had. I came in about 30 mins after opening. There was a table of 4 guys at a table in the corner and one guy eating at a table by the restrooms. I stood for a moment waiting to be seated. There were 2 ladies on the other side of the counter talking. They looked at me standing there, but waited a minute before saying "sit anywhere". I sat down and was looking at my phone, waiting for a server. A couple of minutes went by and they said "coffee's over there". Hmm. I said, oh do it yourself, huh. I got coffee, sat down and realized no one was bringing menús. I asked where they were. "Over in front". Ok, looked at the menu the ladies hadn't moved, decided what I wanted, and said "ok, now what"? She pointed to a register and said she would take my order there. I ordered and paid, and thought it was hilarious that they asked about a tip. Food came out, ding ding... the ladies didn't move. The guy eating by the restroom came and got the food and placed it on my table. Food was ok, but service, atmosphere, operations and management is non existant. Avoid!!
The staff & food at always amazing!!! I dislike the new decor or lack of it's very bland and very loud! Is open concept which is normally ok, but the music & voices just bounce around there is no noise dampening anywhere. While I will always miss the French cottage vibes, I understand that updated need to happen. Do better though, at a 2 person table we had to yell at each other just to have a conversation. Not what I want to do for a relaxing lunch...
What a shock to the system to walk-in and see that the “France” had been stripped right out of the Ia Madeleine !! The very thing that made it special has been replaced by a white wash cafeteria. Yes, it could have used a “refresh” but not at the cost of it identity and uniqueness. How the company thought this was an improvement is bewildering
Had the most confusing interaction with the cashier today. Soda machine’s CO2 was broken, so I asked for a water cup. Lady yells at me and refuses to give me a water cup telling me the machine was broken. I told her I only wanted water which was not affected. Manager finally gives me the water cup and allows me to get water. Ordered a green salad with my sandwich; got a Caesar salad instead. When asked if this was a green salad, the person bringing it out insisted it was a green salad not a Caesar salad. The food is fineif they get it right but the service is pretty awful. Even the manager seemed unwilling to help. Don’t plan on coming back anytime soon until management wises up and fixes the service problems.
I came to eat with my kids ages 14 and 9 and my 9 year old can be picky but loved everything we ordered. Desserts were amazing, food was soooo good and the service was awesome. Cashier was super sweet and patient. The manager Schwanda went above and beyond for us! She made our experience a great one and will definitely come back!Food: 5/5
Wow wow wow rude customer service! $30 for inedible, disgusting food. Salad was already going bad, no dressing no cheese no croutons, fruit was already bad and slimy. Nope. Never again. Piss poor. Not to mention service is rude AF and nothing but clanging silverware, machines running, and screaming whiny toddlers. Hadn’t been in over a year since I had bugs in my food Uber eats order, but this disgusting visit just took the cake. Goodbye
Weird, bland food, rude staff, and not kid friendly. No changing tables in either restroom. One year old reprimanded by staff for picking up two rocks from the outside fire table. Another woman then came out to also let us know about “playing with the fire table” stating, “my boss is about to freak out.” But we were seated at our table after the first man informed us, not anywhere near the fire table. Then we overheard staff still talking about it and seemingly watching us from the windows. Strange, didn’t feel welcomed and will definitely not be going back.
Dined in for breakfast. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast with bacon and cheese grits and it was pretty good. The croissants are the best! They're fresh, flaky, and buttery. The staff provides great service and they are very friendly.
