La Petite Academy of Washington

The teachers are so experienced and knew how to work with our kid in a way that didn't break her spirit and allowed her to feel confident and safe in her environment. I had been so stressed out by the experiences at our other preschools; being at this facility was such a refreshing experience. I cannot say enough about the value of knowing your kid is surrounded by teachers who challenge your child.

Just called to get some info, clearly the person had no idea and was just reciting a text, asked me 5x how to spell my first name and had no information on fees nor was nice. Clearly I hope this is not the level at the school itself.

My son attended La Petite from the time he was 3 months until he was 3.5 yrs old. We had a wonderful experience. Any concerns we had were addressed quickly and thoroughly. The teachers all knew him by name (even the teachers from other classes) and it felt like a family atmosphere. I cried on his last day!! When he started PK3 this year he was fully prepared and on track with the rest of the children in language, math and social skills. We will be sending our second child there in the fall.

I took a tour here and loved the atmosphere and the services. Seeing all the little ones made my heart melt. One thing I saw that bothered me, was how one of the workers interacted with an infant. She have to be between 4-6 months old. Basically the worker was bottle feeding her. As I stood there watching this woman, all of a sudden the baby started crying. The worker is swinging her to the point where, the swing couldn't take the force, she was putting into pushing that thing. Basically force you would put into something while fraustrated. I will never forget the look on her face while she was doing that. Could you guys please look into that? Wasn't sure if the young lady who gave me the tour noticed it. It made me a little uncomfortable, especially having a child the same age. That would make any parent uncomfortable, with their child being under that worker's care. You all have excellent ratings and reviews. But something this small could change everything.

We love La Petite. Our daughter has been there since she was eighteen months and has always loved it. The teachers are all so caring and committed to the children's emotional wellbeing, as well as development. The amenities are great and the easy access to lots of playgrounds and outdoor space is unusual for DC daycare facilities. It really is a great place. I highly recommend it.
