Waiting room seemed nice then you get to the halls and it smelled terrible the elevator was run down had dog pee on the floor. When we got to the room it was small and smelled very bad but I was willing to deal with that after the long drive to get here with my 11 year old daughter and 2 year old son and our yorkie. We checked in a little after 8pm and paid $270 for one night plus a $250 deposit fee and a $16 parking fee and a $25 pet fee. We went to Walmart to grab a few things and returned at 10pm we ordered door dash for dinner and were getting ready to lay down and my daughter said that her bed was itchy so I proceeded to check her bed and there were black dots and hairs EVERYWHERE I then looked at my sheets and pillows and mattress and the same thing! They had bed bug droppings all over and dog hairs! I wish o took more pictures but I got a few! I called and told them and they offered sheets! I told them to come look and they then offered me a different room same hall! I kindly refused and asked for a refund explaining that I own my own cleaning business and as a professional cleaner these things are EXTREMELY difficult to get rid of! I feel so itchy and gross now and praying none hot on our clothes or belongings! They gave me a paper saying it’s proof of refund and I don’t even understand the codes on it and waiting to call my bank in the morning to make sure. I definitely think they should’ve have me extra seeing that now we have no where to go we reserved for there and now it’s 1:36am and we can’t find a room and would have to check out by 11am this is very inconvenient for me and my children and dog! They didn’t apologize but did put bed bugs on the refund paper! Rooms: Terrible! Bed bugs and stink! Safety: Sketchy halls and elevator. Bed bugs!!!
They charged us $400 for smoking in the room when we did not. Apparently, their “sensors” detected it and can differentiate between smoke and other aerosols. We only used hairspray inside the room. Additionally, the bathroom door can't open past the toilet; the air conditioner sounds like a diesel engine; and both elevators feel like they will collapse at any moment.
We only spent one night here and paid off season prices avg. $60/ni and for what it cost during this time, it was great. Clean lobby, room was clean, breakfast was offered and the location was great. We did not pay for parking, but again, it was off season. Our room had a small view of the ocean, which was nice! Quiet room on the top floor. My only complaint would be the dimly lit halls and the upkeep of the common area. It did the job for a quick nights stay.
Throughout our stay we endured multiple technical problems, specifically with key cards not working, which later turned into an argument with the front desk, as well as extremely rude service throughout. Before our trip we were very well aware of the no smoking policy, as well as the potential charges that would follow should this policy be broken. Myself, as well as all of our guests attending were very well aware, and weren’t entirely concerned because of the fact that we do not smoke. Around the 3rd day of our stay we heard complaints regarding the hotel charging hundreds of dollars on top of the initial pending charge because of the sensors detecting cologne. Although this raised a red flag, we were still fairly unconcerned. Shortly after, as they waiting until the last day of our stay to charge my account an additional $150 outside of the pending $250 charge with no explanation in hopes that I could not dispute this before leaving the premises. When we had to bring this to the front desk we were met with an explanation regarding a sensor detecting smoke on the first day of our stay, a few hours after checking in. Considering the fact that we do not smoke, and the fact that we were at the beach during the time of detection, it is clear that this was a major mistake on La Quinta Inns part. We were told to dispute the charges and that it would take up to 7 business days to go through. I, and my family are extremely dissatisfied with our stay and experience to say the least
Stayed with the family over the weekend. We were excited about the pool for the kids, only to find it was closed. We got into our room to discover that it had a musky smell. Then the TV only had 11 channels, with nothing for the kids. My sisters room across the hall had full TV access. I called the front desk and she stated there was nothing she could do. I asked to transfer rooms and she informed me that it was not a good enough reason to change rooms. That particular room just doesn't get a good signal she said. Then I asked to speak to the GM. He's not available on the weekends. Must be nice to work in the hospitality industry and get weekends off. The front desk clerk said the the GM would contact me on Monday. I also called corporate, and never got a return call. 3 weeks later still haven't heard a peep from either. Very disappointed. O well I guess I shouldn't stay at a La Quinta or hold them to a standard.
I stayed here for one night and have had the worst experience. We stayed in a double queen bed room and both beds were COVERED in dog hairs/human hair. We understand that we were on the floor where they accept dogs but that is unacceptable not to make sure that these sheets were clean. After my shower the bathtub remained clogged could not even take another shower before checking out. Leaving the best for last. As I am packing my bags to leave I see a cockroach on the wall DISGUSTING. Very disappointed considering I have stayed in other Quintas before. Supervisor… please make sure your staff can do a better job at keeping this place clean..
The pool is never open, the rooms are outdated and dirty, and the bathroom is cramped. Beware, they will nickle and dime you, resulting in overspending. The same amount would have been used for better accommodations else where. A $25 charge per dog? A $15 parking fee? This wasn't always the case. Add this to your costs as they are not posted when you make your reservation.
From top to bottom issues: Trouble checking in, front desk staff was very rude. We were not notified of $250 incidental fee on top of over $900 for 3 night stay. First room we were booked in was extremely musty/smelled like dog and had a very dirty AC. 2nd room had urine in toilet and a container of leftover strawberries in fridge. Layer of dust on almost everything. Housekeeper was rude when we asked her to clean bathroom. 2 different housekeepers had to be asked before getting bathroom cleaned. We went to beach and pool to swim and when we came back, we tried the key and it did not work. They only had one person working desk, so I had to go 5 floors down, wait, dripping wet, in crowded lobby for key to be reset.
Staff was kind and helpful. The hallways were dark and damp feeling. One of the only two elevators was out of service leaving hotel guest and staff to use the stairway to get to and from rooms due to slow elevator. Rooms were clean. Felt like the equivalent of an older Fairfield Inn and suites or Springhill Suites under the Marriott brand. Less than two blocks to the boardwalk. Rooms: Clean but not updated in a while and mattress was poor quality. Walkability: Less than two blocks to the boardwalk. Noteworthy details: One of the two elevators has been shut down by authorizing body for elevators.
I am currently a guest, looking for a different hotel to move to because this place is a dump! The staff are horrible and extremely unhelpful, and when asked for help repeatedly just say someone will come to your room in a minute and nobody shows. We literally had to scrub the floor and tub just so our children would have a somewhat clean area to play while we figure out our next move. Drain stops don’t work, I had to fix the toilet myself so it could be used, the whole hotel is under poor maintenance. I have stayed in some pretty disgusting places but when I am with my family I expect better! DO BETTER! I am glad to see that your auto generated response is still active. Ironically every bad review you have received for the past 4+ months received the same response! However everyone still has the same consistent issues!?!? Sounds like your full of apologies but unwilling to change you bad behavior!
