Travelodge by Wyndham Virginia Beach Bay Beach

Super close walk to the beach. Beach was nice. Outdoor pool advertised is not open. Front desk was very friendly. Room smelled like cigarettes and the one bed cover had a cigarette burn in it. Not the cleanest room by any means. AC worked well. Location is however nice though in comparison to the beaches and the string of really good restaurants on shore drive. In all honesty a nightly room rate of more then $150 is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. The housekeeping could absolutely be much better and the pool would of been nice to have. Wasn’t horrible, would stay again if the rooms were cleaner but only for the area it is located in.

The staff is very friendly and tried to make our stay comfortable. The rooms are a bit dirty from the sand but it's the ocean so I expect that. Was a little disappointed that the ice machine was out of order during the stay but I managed. Its in a convenient location and very close to the beach so that's a plus. It's affordable for those who may be on a tight budget. I do stress caution if u have children as there is a pub next door that can get a little rowdy at nite but then again I like to party so it didn't bother me.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Only positive was that Amanda, at the front desk was very polite and understanding. We checked in, looked over the room, and noticed on the mattress a HUGE DRIED BLOOD STAIN. Nope. Absolutely not staying there. Amanda had then tried to get us set up into another room, and the other was filled with mold on the walls and in shower. Dirt and bugs everywhere… so nope. Went through where I booked the room and was able to get a refund in full.

This Friendly and Kind Staff along with the location along the Northern part of Shore Drive was exactly what we had in mind for our Mini Vacation to Virginia Beach. Well within walking distance about 1.5 blocks to the sand including the entryway to the Beach. Our room was nice and had all the amenities that 4 people needed for a comfortable stay, with clean bed's and ample linen's so showering after the sand and salt play wasn't any problem as we had our grandchildren with us. The shower was covered in soap scum to the point that you draw in the glass shower doors. The bed spread was dirty w white crusted body fluids, blanket had cigarette Burns although the room was non-smoking. Rooms were up dated nicely just needs a good cleaning. There was a group of people having an extremely loud argument in the parking lot for the first few hours of my stay. Pool was gross and CLOSED. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A CHEAP PLACE TO LAY YOUR HEAD THIS IS FOR YOU ...not for FAMILY'S PLEASE !! Stay SOMEWHERE ELSE

Rooms looked nice smelled heavily of smoke. Burns on bedding. Bedding was also very gritty. Pool advertised when booking has been closed for 3 yrs. Black out curtains useless. Just over all dirty not at all what we expected n definitely not what we paid for. Checked out after one night.Rooms: 1/5

Cockroaches were all over the place and even crawled on me! Counted 14 of them I had to leave after a couple hours and find a clean hotel. Manager would not refund me or give me a different room. Horrible place….they have you sign that you will let them know in one hour if you are not happy with your room or you can’t get a refund. The little buggers start coming out when they smell fresh human to crawl on and by then it’s too late. It’s been over a month and I’m still grossed out! So much for hospitality or customer service!

They advertise clean private rooms. There wasn’t enough curtains to cover the windows so anyone walking by could see us sleeping , changing etc. manager said he couldn’t have it taken care of until the morning shift. Refused to refund or money.. bed spreads had cuts and cigarette burns. I have 33 documented calls to the hotel to speak with the general manager. No answers.

Decent enough motel for the price and location. Motel is in the process of a multi-year renovation with improvements constantly happening, but still no pool. That said, not the cleanest rooms, sheets felt sandy/salty. Housekeeping does not visit your room at all unless you specifically request it.Rooms: 2/5

Room smelled a little smokey. Real problem is night club next door. Our door and windows vibrated all night till 3am. Drove 10 hours and did not sleep the first night; second night noise was worse. Front desk wouldn’t do anything about it. Night club was not listed anywhere online.Rooms: 1/5
