Lake Superior

Imagine the perfect lake. It's clean, supports a large community of people and animals, and is the largest freshwater lake based on volume. Lake Superior is practically a sea, and it's the most beautiful lake in the world for what it does for the environment and because of its sheer physical awesomeness.

Lake Superior? How do you review a lake? Well, this lake in particular is the largest body of fresh water on the planet (by surface area). It's pretty cold year round, so be prepared! Shipping season just started... get out there and watch some boats!

Lake Superior is by far one of my most favorite places on Earth. Ever since I was little I remember driving up from Saint Paul to Superior just to spend a few days by the lake. I remember being 5 and chasing after quarters into the cold water. In later years I ended up swimming out to the rocks by the light house. My sister and I sat there for a good half hour just watching the waves. If you ever wanna go somewhere that makes memories I highly suggest putting this place on your bucket list.

Is a great lake, yeah. I was grownt up on its shores and stole her agates so I could polish them for no good reason. She would get angry sometimes and splash water everywhere but that was fun too. We would have small campfires and run in the water in the winter just to be dumb and it was very cold. Good times, nice lake.

How can you not appreciate the beauty of the largest fresh water lake in the world? Winter brings natural ice sculptures on the cliffs and rocks at waters edge and piles of ice if the wind is right. Spring and Summer are endless rock and sand beaches, while fall is a riot of color and stunning vistas. Any time spent on the north shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota is refreshment for your spirit.
