Larry A Ryle High School

All I can say is that they work hard to make this school good. Too good, I mean they really expect full blown participation and grade-A work ethics. Teachers are very professional and I actually like that a lot, but I can't even start to explain the work they assign. Six class periods, and at least one (more than likely two) of them have you doing some sort of project, while at least three are giving out homework daily. So no joke, if you aren't doing all of your homework daily- while doing some at school and the rest at home- you're under extraordinary amounts of pressure if you get more than a couple days behind.

Prides themselves with offering a dual credit program (where students can go to college and earn high school and college credit), but do nothing to support these students. They hold class meetings, which are especially important for seniors, during these students college classes. Often times, these students are unaware of the meetings that they have missed until they ask questions and then the staff member disregards them saying, "that was answered in the meeting." Many teachers are there as coaches and it is very obvious, seeing as they don't teach- especially during the sport season. There is an extreme lack responsibility among staff members in regards to helping students with issues they are facing in school, mainly abuse from other students. I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. They don't actually care about their students, and they're rated highly on all those "top schools of KY" because many of the students here are wealthy and live in wealthy families (I think you get the idea).

I use to be a student and I thought it was bad then. I revisited it recently and I am glad I graduated when I did. I feel bad saying it but the atmosphere is so bad now. A very racist school it has become!

Mid March and they still have no clue when the Seniors are going to graduate. Totally unacceptable.
