I have been very happy with the care my sister is receiving at Las Palomas. You never want to find yourself in this situation, but the staff has been very friendly and helpful. They always try to meet our needs and do their best to help those who need full time care. They provide activities for those who wish to participate and always create a positive environment.
I was prepared to give this place a 2 rating. I was documenting everything in a little notepad. Medication or no medication. Staff. Food. A nurse seen me write things down. I tore the pages out of the notebook. I thought I had hidden them in another book. I came home and they were gone.... Somebody went threw my belongings.
This is a wonderful, caring place. Great people work there. The staff goes above and beyond for the patients, when short staffed, as is happening with covid employees work hard overtime to make it work. It takes alot of team work to make this place run and they are definitely a team!
Las Palomas has been awesome concerning my brother's transition from skilled nursing to long-term care. I appreciate all the work they've done. Thank you Las Palomas admin staff, nurses and employees.
My father was abused three times at this facility by staff at night. Very disturbing. The Administrator seems to be focused on pacifying families but does not actually take action to protect patients. Much of the rest of the staff seems very kind. It is a sad situation to have your family in an unsafe place.
My mom is there right now and she is short of breathe. I’m trying to call them and no one is answering. No one ever answers. She was in a soiled diaper for several hours, her oxygen was down to 80 and in bed all day. She is there for rehab to go back home. How can this be ok?
I will never recommend this location to anyone, including my worst enemy. My mother was released from the hospital & sent to this facility & the treatment she received was horrible. My mother had to ASK for her medications, she was experiencing lots of afib problems & had to ASK someone to come in & check her vitals multiple times a day. They were treating her as a type 2 diabetic & she has been a type 1 for 15 years. Whenever she had to use the restroom, they would take 30 minutes to come in. I had to call the social services office twice & ask why they were changing her meds & the response each time was that it was on the papers from the hospital. Oddly enough, they could never provide the documentation from the hospital. The final day she was there my mom's HR reached 160 & the tech told my mom to read a book to calm down. That's not how afib works! I finally got a hold of the administrator of the facility & told her if she didn't get someone in my mom's room to check on her, I was calling 911 myself. EMT's showed up 10 minutes later to take her back to the hospital where she's been since. She was there 4 days & not once did she ever see a physician. I am disgusted with the treatment my mom received from this facility. She will not be going back to any Genesis locations.
The building that is Las Palomas is a place filled with people that wake up everyday with a purpose. Not only do they continue to push through with COVID always looming but they do so among many other challenges that a nursing home encounters. Some may say that this place needs work but in all honesty everyplace needs work and I applaude those who take on that task and care for the elderly with grace and respect. I don't just see the struggles I see a place working at making a difference and offering that hope some families face when finding a place for their loved one transitioing into another stage in life. So in summary give this place a chance and allow grace to those that work hard at giving excellent care.
My mom has been at Las Palomas for the last two and a half years, and I am extremely happy with the care and attention she gets there. Even during the crisis of COVID-19, I was able to easily contact the director and staff and get a great response. She gets her hair done every week and the staff are very kind to her. You can also tell that it's a good facility, because there is not too much turnover in the staff. Highly recommend.
I came to Las Paloma’s, from another faculty.. Not knowing a thing about Las Polomas, It took about a week to get Meds accurate, PT and Ot came and assessed Me, Very Thorough..The Techs come as fast as they can yes there are days I wait longer, Doctors come see u if , you have a need for their visit.. Clean sheets, make beds up..Nurse brings Med and also if needing something different, they usually provide rather quickly..Remember we are here because we are sick and in pain due to injuries I definitely made the right decision coming here..These faculties all run the same, But it is the people that work here, that want to help, and help ur recovery..Clean baths and rooms..The ENTIRE STAFF, whether Administrators, to Techs, to Nursing, are here with good intentions.. Shuttle’s to My Doc Appts.PT and OT are fabulous and hard ,,hard workers .I cannot say enough nice things about Las Poblamos..The other residents are very friendly and great company during a trying ordeal..I write this review with a Sincere Heart, I am not a very patient person, and recovery is Tough..But the Staff Here Is Fabulous.!!!
