It was a great restaurant located in a street side along luxury shopping arena. Parking was available in a parking lot situated right there. We reserved a table outside. The tables were beautifully decorated. It felt like a restaurant in Paris. The was light music playing in the background. We got few mocktails and had dumplings as a starter. The dumplings were scrumptious. We had a fried rice, green curry and chicken glazed with garlic and peanuts. The food was delicious. For desert, it was warm chocolate cake which was lovely. The service was great as well. All in all, great experience.
We had a beautiful time at Le Colonial. Although it took a bit to get seated, the wait wasn’t too bad with great company. Our waitress and the servers treated us exceptionally well, and they will be the reason I return. Most of the food was delicious, though the rice was too dry to enjoy. Despite that, I had a lovely evening.Food: 4/5
I have been here several times, so when it came time to plan my birthday, Le Colonial was an easy choice. My birthday here in April was amazing! The service and ambiance was top tier. I had a party of 20 and management was extremely helpful and accommodating to us! Everyone had a fantastic time. The food is always good. Very fresh and classy presentation. They even surprised me with a cream brûlée at the end of the meal! Vegetarian options: Ask the waiter about substitutions. They are very accommodating.
First time at Le Colonial and I had high expectations of the place. We made a reservation and actually when we arrived the table was already completely ready, the girls at the entrance were super friendly but our server was friendly but perhaps not up to par with the place he didn't give any recommendations and was really quite absent from the table. We tried a little of everything, Seafood ceviche and Fire Crackers BeefGood presentation but a little spicy for me. But the divine Beet Salad I think was the best of the night. We also ordered the Fried Rice, it was good but nothing interesting Drinks was delicious: Pickly Pear in the picture, Lychee super good, La Vie en Rose. All with a good presentation and the bartenders really do a good and fast job, the drinks always arrived super fast. The desserts were a no for me, the Creme Brulee and the Key Lime didn't taste good, a little flat. The incredible atmosphere, the music, the lights, the decoration, everything was on point, I feel that the service in general could be much better, for example the dishes arrived and they were not delivered to the person who had ordered. Parking: Located in the River Oak District. Kid-friendliness: No much like a kids style
This is a French Vietnamese restaurant in the very upscale shopping area of the River Oaks District, therefore, the prices will reflect the locale. There’s a good selection of basic Vietnamese cuisine, from chả giò to gỏi cuốn and bún thịt nướng. The bò lúc lắc is very good as they use filet mignon. I’m a little perplexed because I’m not used to paying these prices for Vietnamese food, but the flavors were definitely spot on. However, the service is lacking if they want to present the restaurant as a high end bourgeois fine dining establishment. Afterwards, there is no shortage of über riche shops, from Bruno Cuccinelli to Hermès and Harry Winston.
I often find myself at this modern Vietnamese concept, indulging in dishes that are always well-prepared. As a connoisseur of Asian cuisine, I do find it a bit pricey for such approachable fare, but trust me, I’ll devour it every time! My favorite bite from my business lunch was the **Sui Cao Chien Pan-Seared Chicken Dumplings**—featuring Amish farm chicken, scallions, ginger, and black vinegar sauce. I'll definitely be back. It's a solid spot. The Yum: Le Colonial in the River Oaks District transports you to an era of romance with its posh French Colonial decor. This expansive, two-story venue boasts a stunning wraparound terrace and intimate private dining rooms. Guests are treated to an idyllic ambiance and an innovative menu of Vietnamese cuisine crafted by Executive Chef Charlie Ho.
FANTASTIC RESTAURANT! We loved everything about this place. Our waiter, Fabian was superb. He helped us pick the perfect dishes. We got the stir fry chicken, shakin’ beef, and chicken dumplings. Everything was excellent. For dessert we had crème brûlée, Vietnamese coffee, and Lavazza coffee. We loved the food, ambience, live music, and the excellent service. Highly recommended!!!
Le Colonial has great ambiance and very comfortable seating. A variety of food selection in the menu. The key difference at this place is that I have found is that the service staff to be experienced, long time with them and very well knowledgeable on their menu. This way, all our questions were answered, service was accurate, customized if needed, and they seemed to own the part of making the customer enjoy the experience. Not to mention the food is consistently very tasty and perfect temperature and texture. Highly recommended.
Beautiful decor was a great preview to an amazing meal. High end Vietnamese food that is true to Vietnam. Our server Edvin was amazing, highly recommend!Food: 5/5
We have been here several times and the food and service have always been wow! This time however it wasn't. Half of the food was wow and the service just wasn't there. We had to ask to have flowers on our table like all the other tables it looked so bare and felt so cold with out. Lychee martinis were great like always. Had to ask for spoons to get the rice into the dish ordered. Just felt like they had not enough servers for the tables.
