Moxie's Grill & Bar

This is a very bad place. I have come here twice and I will never come again. First time I came, they didn't have pie so i settled with a burger. The burger was off, bread was dry, it was honestly just terrible. I also got cheesy chips which was chips with maybe 10 shavings of cheese. Awful. Second time I came I got pie with 2 sides, the pie was nice but the side was tiny. £8.50 for what? This place has super low quality it's appalling. I wish I went to the Turkish place place on the other side of the station.. i could have gotten a medium chicken donner to fill me up with that price. What a joke.

Super fresh food! strongly recommend But I don’t get this extra charge if costumers eat inside … this is non sense. You guys have tables inside/outside and asking to pay extra if people wants to eat inside.

I would rate this a 6/10 for the following reasons: Positives: The tables were nice and clean, the chips were very nice and crispy, family run restaurant, fair pricing. Negatives: The battered fish was not crispy at all, which was very surprising considering the reviews and considering I had no vinegar on it. They don’t seem to season anything either from the mushy peas to the actual fish it’s all a little bland. Also the family are lovely but the man behind the counter could be a little more friendly especially since the rest of the family were extremely cheerful. Overall I’d summarise this place as ‘okay’. Definitely not as good as the reviews would suggest, maybe I got unlucky and the guy just didn’t fry my fish for long enough but this is my experience so if I give it another try and it’s better I’ll update my review.

We have been to moxie's a number of times over the last 6 months and have enjoyed the food every time. The service is friendly and excellent too. We have tried the fried cod, fried hake and the grilled sea bream which are all highly recommended. Portions are generous and I would say that one portion of chips is probably enough to share between two. Definitely buy the homemade tartare sauce which is well worth the 50p that it is charged. If you are going I would definitely try the sea bream and ask them what the catch if the day is usually £7.50 at lunch.

I had the honour of finally trying the much anticipated Moxies Fish Bar, and it did not disappoint AT ALL. Every food item I ordered was increasingly fresh, and beautifully seasoned. I ended up have to buy some more to take home for my household so they do not miss out on this treat. Keep up the good work!!!!!

Fresh Fish, excellent taste. I have tried this a few times and everytime its turned out to be a tasty. They have different variety of fishes and all quite fresh, not your average cod and chip shop! They are specialist in fish. The owner is nice and friendly. The portion size for the price is big enough. I would definitively recommend to try it. Better than the rest of fish & chip shops in the area.

I just had my dinner at Moxie’s and to say I’m impressed is an understatement. I had the plaice which is without doubt the best plaice I’ve ever had in my life. The fish is so perfectly fresh and flakes just as you’d expect Super fresh fish to flake. The batter is light, crispy and not in the least bit greasy. Chips are perfectly crispy and fluffy. I also love that Moxie’s does salads and I had an excellent beetroot salad to accompany my main. I couldn’t recommend enough. The owner and staff are Super friendly and I will try and hake and other fish - also will try grilled! Thanks for the awesome meal!

Very happy with the cod and chips, it was freshly cooked and stayed hot in the box. I ate fish & chips today which tasted great specially because it was fresh fish from Scotland. The salade was also very deliciuos. The service was also very friendly. I would visit them again certainly! :-

New fish and chips shop in West Hampstead right by the station. Excellent fish, chips is good but needs to cooked a little more. Indoor seating, pleasant staff, nice and clean. Service was pretty quick. A nice new addition to West Hampstead.
