Le Pain Quotidien

Story

We’re a Belgian bakery and restaurant serving simple, wholesome and seasonal food. Le Pain Quotidien means “the daily bread” in French, and like our name suggests, we’re bakers at heart. Although our handmade, organic bread is how we got our start, we serve a variety of healthy options like organic coffee, pastries, eggs, tartines, soups, salads and desserts.

At Le Pain Quotidien, we believe that food should be simple, nourishing and delicious. That’s why we source ingredients that are local or organic whenever possible. We also believe in the importance of eating a healthy, plant-based diet, so you’ll find many vegetarian or vegan options on our menu.

With this restaurant just down the block from the hotel, we decided to give it a go before leaving the city. The dining room was very nice with lots of community tables. The staff and service were a little wanting. For instance, we asked for the bread that came with a dish on two occasions but never got it. The steel cut oatmeal with walnuts was good but not great. I also understand the mushroom quiche was a 7 of 10. The latte came out bland. It was fine for the experience but wouldn’t go back again.
Simply exceptional. As I walked past Le Pain Quotidien I gazed beyond its front and witnessed an spacious cafe with personality and a long line. I noticed that there were three ways to get food: going to the fridge and picking up a sandwich or salad, using their app or wait to be seated. Thankfully, this day I was able to obtain a table and what a wonderful experience it was! The service was top notch, the waiter balanced his tables with grace always keeping a steady momentum without rushing me while taking my time looking at the menu and its wonderful offerings. The food tasted as if experiencing a banquet in Mount Olympus. A fresh salmon perfectly seasoned, breads and mustards that I had only experienced when traveling in Europe and a macchiato that hit all the right notes from the right acidity, perfectly balanced with milk to the appropriate portion size. This slice of heaven has a communal style of sitting, so keep that in mind if you're not comfortable sitting close to other people and download the app to pick up your banquet to go and enjoy it outdoors. If you're into Salmon words are not enough to describe what you'll experience if you request it. Otherwise, treat yourself to a surprise from their menu. You won't be disappointed.
I loved it!!! Perfect place right across Bryan Park. The chilly soup was nice and hot. I had a ginger type of tea to warm me up, just right... I love bread, so I felt in paradise. I'm definitely coming back here.
Super cute rustic cafe next to Bryant Park. The classical music is calming, the coffee is amazing and the service is on point. It gives you a sweet escape feeling to an upscale experience for great prices after a long day. Perfect for some peace or a coffee date. I definitely recommend you coming to check out this gem yourself.
I came here very often during my stay in MYC because my hotel didn't had breakfast included. I love this place!! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and i loved the food. Specially the breakfast sandwich and the avocado toast Food: 5/5
It was pretty good. We were sited right away and the service was good, a little rushed but for a place as busy as this it helps thing move faster for everyone. The food was delicious and the coffee was just as good. I would recommend this place if you have the time for a sit down breakfast.
While the location cannot be beat as it is right across the street from Bryant Park the food breakfast is a bit lackluster. I chose to eat indoors and was hoping for a great breakfast. The coffee was very good and was an interesting cup to drink out of. I ordered the breakfast bowl and when I tried to order without sweet potatoes I was told the it was pre made, so it couldn’t be customized. It was supposed to come with a sunny side up egg and what came out was a completely cooked egg with hard yoke which made the bowl a bit less appetizing because of the missing yoke. The one saving grace is the bread and danishes which look amazing. I purchased a cheese danish for my partner and she said the lamination was very good. Not bad for a quick bit but expect premade and not made to order food.
I actually Love their bread and pastries but today, i took the decision to dine in at Bryant park branch for a brunch with my brother. It was a sad blood boiling experience.!! At first, because it was early in the day, one of the staff had us seated in the middle and I thought, we wanted somewhere in the corner which most tables on that side were empty .the staff then asked us twice, what is the problem with this table? My nephew answered we didn't like it like it here and it was then he went away and referred us to another staff. RUDE!! We then sat on our preferred table as it’s empty anyway and waited for few minutes until someone took our order. Food was then served. However, There was no tap water offered, no spoon or stirring stick for our coffee, no knife to slice our food and staff never came back to check. We waited again for long time until i turned my head looked for the staff and made a sign we need the bill.handed it to us.then another wait took place to wait for the staff until we decided to take the bill with us and paid it OTC .we were treated poorly!! Bad experience!! Never will i go back to dine in!!! It ruined our day!!
Food was pretty good but nothing to brag about. The servers seemed to get into a fight about who was going to serve our table which resulted in about 20 minutes with neither coming to help. This obviously soured our experience unfortunately. Can’t beat the location right up to Bryant Park
If you love Le Pain Quotidien you gotta visit this place. The best in NY. We arrived early in the morning and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Their menu is awesome. For gluten free, they can adapt most of the options with their Super seed gluten free bread. It was so delicious that I bought this bread to take home. They have gluten free chocolate chip cookie too. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread and cookie.
