I've been going to various Leather Spa locations for years, a decade maybe The west 55th st location is my favorite. The other location I like is inside Saks Fifth Avenue, shoe department floor is small but very convenient They do great work at cleaning, repairing your footwear and bags. Their customer service always responses back promptly and they're thorough. They are a bit expensive but they do such a great job and make my old/used items look new again! How can you not love Leather Spa?!!
I used the shipping service to send in a pair of well worn luxury boots to be resoled and the rubber heel cap replaced. They were so worn from many years of use that my expectations for the repair were relatively low, but let me tell you when I got them back they looked *brand new*. The new leather sole matched the boot with impeccable precision that matched the fine finishes of the boot. They also took the time to refurbish the leather and repair a few scuff marks around the toe area. Shipping time and repair service was very reasonable, less than two weeks around the holidays. I was absolutely delighted that my favorite boots were given new life for many more years of use. Thank you!
Visited leather spa for the first time a couple of weeks ago to get two pairs of shoes polished , I enjoyed the service provided. I ended up going back to get my new leather boots polished and water proofed after, I also picked up some well needed items shoe horn, water proof spray, a couple cans of polish, and a brush. I highly recommend them .
Destroyed my sneakers and lacked any accountability for their actions…I dropped off a pair of Chanel sneakers. They were white and the suede is off white, the cost of my sneakers are $1200, and resale for $1500, although I am not even sure if these are available anywhere in the world, as they are one of the hardest Chanel sneakers to find. My entire sneaker was white and the suede part is off white/beige, and when I came to pick up my sneaker not only was the entire sneaker destroyed the people at the leather spa showed no remorse and said they did nothing wrong with my sneakers. My entire sneakers look bleached a completely different color. I paid a $100 with $20 rush delivery for them to destroy my sneaker show no remorse and act as if they were not in the wrong. I have uploaded pictures along with the a picture of my friends version of the same sneakers so that you all can see the difference. Even small parts of my sneaker has a little of the beige tone in them. This has been one of the most terrible experiences I have ever had in my life with any shoe cleaners and I have had my sneakers cleaned in several cities and countries.if you look closely to the sneaker the suede part on the laces on the tongue is the correct color of the suede on the front is suppose to be.
I have been coming here for over a decade and this weekend they helped me out very last minute with an emergency bag cleaning. They are the best in the business. I have shoes I have been able to keep for years and years because they can bring anything back to life and do excellent work! Thank you Leather Spa!
Gave my husbands shoes in for cleaning and came back damaged. They write every detail of the scratches and damages before taking it in for repair. The shoe was not damaged before I gave as this was not mentioned in the ticket. Upon confronting, the employee said "repairs are done by hand, damages are possible, let me glue it". I told them that was not a fair answer for the price I paid for the shoes and the cleaning. They connected me to the manager, Josephine, who lacks every sense of customer service, she blamed it back at me by saying we did not see this because its the interior of the shoe but this was not the damage done by them. Absolutely not worth trusting this place with expensive goods, since "repairs are done by hand and damage is possible"
I have had several pairs of designer shoes repaired and am very pleased with their service. I am very hard on my shoes and they come back like new. Much less expensive than replacing.
I sent my boots to Leather Spa for repair on December 26th, with an assured pick-up date of 1/2. However, upon arriving at the designated day, the shoes were not ready. I made the effort to travel to pick them up, only to be informed that they'd be ready in 15 minutes. After returning 45 minutes later, I was told they still weren't ready and to come back in an hour. This blatant disregard for customers' time is inconsiderate and disrespectful. Especially when the services are overpriced! The lack of professionalism and failure to meet the promised timeline left disappointed and annoyed. Despite the shop's reputation, the service I received was mediocre. I will never return to Leather Spa, as their inability to fulfill commitments and their indifference towards customers' schedules is unacceptable. I've had far better experiences with other shoe stores in the area and would strongly advise against trusting Leather Spa with your footwear needs unless you don’t value customer service.
My unfortunate no good very bad day happened last year when my Louboutin became lodged in my buildings escalators step treads. The skinny heel had gotten stuck in between the tread and though I managed to get my actual foot out, the heel got stuck, the escalator had eaten it, and while I'm screaming at the desk people to STOP the escalator, my shoe gets further and further wedged into the top landing platform. I'm wondering if this should be a review for the amazingly crafted Louboutins! The heel never broke off, just bent to where I'd look like the wicked witch of the west wearing it... It's made of steel! As stressful and sad as that day was, it had been the suggestion of many of my red heeled bottom friends that I only go to Leather Spa...and though the first time was at the Grand Central location, and I cannot say that the customer service is amazing, when I received the shoes a couple weeks later in the mail, they looked flawless. Like seriously. SERIOUSLY whoa! I was looking at a brand new pair of shoes. I wish I could take my car into them. Or have the cobbler as a roommate... I think they are less concerned with the quality of staff minding the register and taking orders. Not super friendly, sort of robotic. They do, however, have a convenient website displaying a detailed menu of services to choose from and then receive a written quote of the services. I've now had 3 pairs of Louboutins, and a Chanel bag revived. I will upload pics when I get home. Best. Ever.
I’ve been coming here for years and they always make my shoes and bags look brand new. They are expensive but it’s average for the City and they are fairly quick. They made my LV bag like new.
