Lee's Asian Market

This place is awesome. The owners are so nice, and the selection and prices are good. I come for fresh lemongrass and ginger authentic teas, Asian candy, fish sauce, etc, but they also have a wide variety of options that are less mainstream in the US.

Wow, this is simply the best Asian grocery I've ever seen....anywhere. Certainly an unexpected resource in south Asheville, Arden actually. I was shopping for Tamarind sauce like that found in Indian restaurants. What I got was a whole lesson in Tamarind, as well as several forms including paste, canned juice and chutneys. The owner was so helpful, with many suggestions and how to mix my own! A couple of shoppers also chimed in, and I left with a full basket of tempting items as well as many forms of tamarind. All the people shopping there looked delighted. They have many fresh vegetables and fruits and other goods. There were many countries represented, and an unbelievable choice for a smallish store....sort of a Tardis of Asian groceries. My husband who is usually immune to impulse shopping was delighted with cans of eel and other delicacies for hiking trips, and the many cookies available. We'll be coming for a different cuisine every month for a while, and by the way, there are several nearby oriental restaurants to try.

I simply love this place it’s such a nice little place with great food options and snacks. I also enjoy the friendly company of the people who run the place. All around it’s a lovely little shop

Great selection of Asian products, while the organization is a bit confusing, the price is great and the staff are helpful.
