I would not recommend Liberty Mutual to anyone! My problem began when I called Geico, looking to bundle my auto and homeowner's policies to save money. I had had my auto policy with Geico for several years and had gotten stellar service. They immediately turned my call over to Liberty Mutual, whose agent took my info, quoted me rates, signed me up, and took my downpayment. No issues. We had, after all, just bought the home five years earlier and owned it outright. He said they would send someone over to inspect the exterior in the next couple of weeks. No problem--our current insurer had done the same thing. In the meantime, I canceled my current policy. Two weeks after canceling our current policy I received an email from Liberty Mutual on Mar. 5 saying that they were going to cancel our newly written policy unless we painted our house and installed a railing around our front porch BEFORE Mar. 25!!!! Imagine being told that we had to paint our house in KY in March, when it is impossible to paint, and being told to install a railing that is not in keeping with the style of a 1925 Craftsman bungalow! Not to mention the expense. I was livid. I explained that we plan to have the house painted this year, though painting the house hardly seemed relevant anyway. I'm still not sure whether to attribute this demand to bait and switch or to redlining because our name is Castro. I may yet decide to pursue a lawsuit. As a result, Geico has also lost our business and our previous insurer now has all of our business. Thankfully, they took us back and we actually saved MORE money bundling with them. Do NOT trust Liberty Mutual!

Kent Lewis worked with me in reevaluating our insurance needs. We ended up going with another company because of lower rates, but Kent was kind, professional, timely, and thorough. I would recommend him to anyone, and will certainly call again next time we're reevaluate our insurance needs.

I would avoid Liberty Mutual at all cost. Joey Doom was my agent and he never followed through on anything I asked about, never returned calls. I guess he got promoted and couldn't make time for a PAYING CUSTOMER. Liberty Mutual raised my homeowners insurance due to Hurricanes in the southern states and I was told they spread the cost around. Not me I said and I left. Went with ALLSTATE.... The Good Hands People.
