We provide services for people who are blind or visually impaired, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, and people with other disabilities.
We believe in:
Competitive jobs for people with disabilities so they can support their families and live vibrant, independent lives
Employers who hire based on what candidates CAN do, instead of what they can’t
Communities that support self-sufficiency among adults and children with disabilities
Manufacturing high-quality, reasonably-priced products that make our customers look both smart and philanthropic
At Lighthouse Louisiana, we exist to create opportunities for people with disabilities to succeed.
But what is success?
For some, it’s employment. We help them get skills, get employed, and stay employed.
For others, it’s having the tools & training to remain independent so they can stay in their home and not have to rely on others to take care of them.
For kids, it’s access to assistive technology so they can learn on par with their sighted peers and go on to have a productive career someday.
For someone who is blind, success can be safely navigating their community with the help of a white cane (Mardi Gras parades, public transit, or any other situation)
For a Deaf or Deafblind person, success can be clear communication with a doctor with the assistance of a skilled interpreter.
