I'm currently studying Fashion Merchandising at LIM in my third year. I've had a great experience and can't imagine having gotten so far at any other school! I've been able to work Fashion Week, obtain two internships, and hold leadership positions throughout different areas of the school. Professors are industry experts and can be great mentors for students looking to enter fields they have experience in. I'd recommend this school to anyone who loves fashion and hopes to work in the industry someday!
Attending LIM College was the best decision I made in my entire life. When accepted, make sure you attend Accepted Students Day! There I attended break-out sessions, and was able to attend our yearly fashion show - for free! The classes are amazing and the staff and professors are all educated and experienced. You dive head first into the industry on day one. The opportunities and experiences you have here are endless! Internships and jobs are easy to find and easy to attain with the help from the career management department. Couldn't be happier with my college experience!
I've been an MPS student here for about two months now, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. How many schools put their students in touch with the Dean on the first day of orientation? I didn't even know who the Dean was when I was in undergrad. LIM is small, so the focus is truly on the student, and you don't feel like just a number. The staff are involved with you from day one, and everyone I've interacted with so far has shown genuine interest into making sure I succeed in the program and in my career beyond LIM. Coursework is interesting and relevant, and professors are fashion industry professionals who are all knowledgeable and accessible. This place is unlike any other fashion school in NYC.
I had the best experience at their Student For a Day!! I was able to participate in sample mock classes and learned what it was like to be a student for a day!! My father was also very happy that they even had a financial aid presentation going on at the same time as the mock classes!! We even had the chance to walk over to the Maxwell Hall location with the Student Ambassadors and observe the Iron Merchant, which was very fun. After the Iron Merchant my father and I were taken on a tour of Maxwell by our excellent tour guide Kyla, and then we were taken uptown to the Residence Hall for a tour of the building. I had a very great time and would definitely recommend making the trip to visit LIM College!!
I am originally from North Carolina and I always dreamed about pursuing a job in the fashion industry. I wanted to make sure that the college I am attending will be able to make that dream possible. Attending LIM College makes me feel secure that I am able to get career in the fashion industry by the time I graduate. This is my second year at this school and I am almost overwhelmed by the endless opportunities that LIM College offers, not only in internships, but my school offers networking and career building workshops. LIM College is very career driving and specialized for students who want to pursue a career in the business aspect of the fashion industry.
I am about to begin my fourth and final year here at LIM, I will be graduating LIM with a Fashion Merchandising Degree. This school threw me right into the fashion business world from the very beginning opening so many doors and opportunities for me! I have learned so much in this very hands on involved college experience, at 21 I can say that I have worked with various designers and companies during fashion week, Interned with dream companies Cosmopolitan Magazine and overall built my network and resume. This school is perfect for a student who has a desire to learn about the business that goes into and stands behind the fashion industry!
LIM collage is one of the collages I will be attending but the possibility of only attending this school is 90/100 because I've deep researched this school and it sounds extravagant. Your dreams and possibilities start here with one foot granted into this coordinated school your bound to succeed in life with the many opportunities to amaze your self with how much acknowledgement your can grasp from this school into the fashion world.
The dorms are horrible. The professors are great, but they are the same professors at FIT, Parsons, and Baruch so you might as well go there. Too expensive and the financial aid office does not provide resources to help take out loans.
Do not attend this school. I haven't even started my freshmen classes and I already want to transfer. This school is ridiculous when it comes to the dorms. I sent in my dorm application at the end of June & I was told I would find out my room situation by the end of July. It is now 6 days before I move in & I have recieved no information on what has been going on. Half of my class already have recieved their email about their dorms. While on the other hand half of us did not. I have called and email and nothing. First I was told that the system was done and I would recieve my information by the end of that day. The next day comes and I still haven't received anything; so I email them asking if the issue was fixed. No reply was sent back to me. I then looked on fb to see if any updates was posted. They then said some would be sent out and some would take longer. Two days after that I wrote on their fb when I would be receiving my information. I was written back by an upperclassmen telling me to "be patient" and basically to calm down. I have never dealt with so much stress from a school. This was definitely not worth the tuition or the dorm feed. Do not go here.
I would LOVE to attend and always wanted to. Graduated FIDM '98 and would adore brushing up here after all these years. Always had an AMAZING reputation from both coasts.
