Little Burma Asian Market

This store is part of what males Carrboro such a rich cultural center. They have many exotic goods that are hard to find anywhere else and the prices are great. This is where I go to get regular and toasted coconut water. Its cheaper here than anywhere else and the toasted variety is very rare (and delicious) around here. From my experience the people working there don't speak the best English but will nevertheless try their best to describe what a product is if you have any questions.

Burmese food for Burmese people. Store personnel speak little English. Authentic Burmese fermented tea (Laphet) is sold here. Very hard to find else where.

This place is a GEM! As a native Seattleite and lover of several Asian cuisines, I was so happy to find this supermarket in Carrboro (conveniently close to Weaver Street Market and Harris Teeter). It offers a large variety of Asian seafood, veggies/legumes, spices, beverages, candies, noodles, and other staples at bargain prices. Seriously, get all of your Asian ingredients here--they're way cheaper than any other local grocery stores, much more authentic, and are of excellent quality. As a bonus, the owner is super sweet and helpful; I'm always delighted to see her. Cash must be used as tender for purchases under $10, but credit/debit cards are accepted on orders +$10.
