4.8. Absolutely loved the vibe and the food at Little Donkey. Very open, industrial space, with a cool and modern vibe. The oysters were fantastic and they came with an amazing lemon/ginger crystal jelly topping which was unforgettable. The fish options and veggies were all fantastic-with lots of depth to the flavors and interesting culinary choices that left us wanting more. Would definitely return. The service was good and we loved the food.
Great service terrible lighting. Not sure why that’s considered a good mood when you can barely read the menu. Wine was good and so were cocktails, but food in general was not as great as what everyone says. Overpriced and small portions. Weird flavor combinations don’t make this place a memorable place. Bronzino and octopus were decent. Oysters were ok.
Very busy place, so I would recommend to have a reservation. Outside sitting has heaters. The food was delicious. The portions are on the small side so I would recommend at least 4 dishes for 2 people to share.
I ate here for dinner with two other people. The atmosphere and ambiance are great. The service and staff were friendly, attentive and lighting fast. The food was average, nothing special. The Bangkok Street Noodles were missing a lot of the noodles and more of a salad with peanuts thrown on the side. There was no flavor expect for overdone spice that left your mouth on fire. The Pupusa De Pollo was much smaller than expected and again lacked any good flavor. We were all shocked when the bill came. The food and drinks are overpriced, bland and nothing special. It’s a big let down as we were very excited to eat here. A majority of the reviews either ignore the overpriced menu or the blandness of the food. The food, drinks and prices alone would only be 3 star worthy. However, the staff and atmosphere helped push it to 4 stars. Metered parking along the street, you only have 90 min before you have to give up your seat. Ultimately I wouldn’t come back.
Typical New American restaurant with decent food and service. My friend and I came in for dinner this past weekend. We liked the casual and relaxed atmosphere, but it seemed a bit hectic. Our server was busy talking to other diners, so she rarely came by our table to check on us. She was still very friendly but made everything look unorganized. While we weren't able to find anything interesting, standout dishes were the foie gras and the manti. The peach and nut toppings on the foie gras seemed to work better than other fruit and foie gras combinations I've tried. Known as the Turkish dumplings, the manti were also satisfying bites. On the other hand, their iconic caviar sandwich was disappointing. The combination of lukewarm caviar and toasted bun was unremarkable, and it certainly looked better than it tasted. Other dishes including the steak tartare, mussels, and the bronzino were good, but their flavor profiles were a bit cliche. Without innovative dishes, Little Donkey certainly fell short compared to other New American restaurantalin the city. However, they are still a solid choice for a casual night out if you don't have a huge expectation for their food.
Really good experience here at Little Donkey! Our server was very attentive and answered all of our questions well, as well as provided some great recommendations. We tried the BLT lettuce wraps, fried cauliflower, manti, rolls, and empanada. The only one I wouldn’t get again was the rolls - nothing special here! Everything else was so tasty and the gin cocktail GTOTM was great too. And love the eclectic look and atmosphere!
Food was great. We sat on the patio and Dana was our server. Service was exceptional, wines wonderful, and food will be having us come back again.
We ate here last night and were lucky to have Fernando as a server. Each dish was exciting and tasty. We cannot wait to go back. This place is run exceptionally well, from the bussers to the top - everything was perfect. Vegetarian options: There were several vegetarian and vegan options.
Place to go in Cambrige, Mass Av !! Very good food and the waiter was super nice with us ! we recommend this place and will come back. One little complain: light is very very low - will be better to see better the food we are eating.
If you’re going to eat buttered up carbs from anywhere anywhere, I would recommend getting the Parker house rolls over and over again as we did. They were to die for especially fresh out of the oven. This was my first time here and it was a great experience. The manti was delicious and was the perfect size to stuff in your mouth. I only wish there were more since we shared them. The duck mole was a bit disappointing as it was a dry and there was just one leg. The cookie dough was a great end to the night. Our waitress told us the current menu features honey and that some dishes will change seasonally not the Parker house rolls thank goodness. I was pleasantly surprised to find so many Asian inspired dishes. The menu looks wonderful and I will be back to try more!
