Little Professor Book Center

I’m a member at Little Professor, and let me just say that it’s one of my favorite places to be in all of Birmingham! The staff are all so friendly and helpful, the coffee is amazing, and the space in general is beautiful with all the natural light and design. I can’t rave enough about this gem! Buy your books LOCAL at Little Professor!!

Great selection of books - big titles too! I love how they have staff picks & reviews for some of the books. I’m a picky reader when it comes to buying books but the staff have excellent recommendations!! Got a cute classic book cover from here!!

We love coming to Little Professor! It’s a magical bookshop that knows you by name and is always ready for a suggestion to help our budding readers. So thankful for this space that my kids love coming to and our favorite place to buy birthday presents!

It's really nice in here, despite sounding like a children's bookstore. Prices were a bit high for me, but it's very nice to walk around - everything is well organized and displayed.

The greatest local bookshop with the sweetest, most intentional staff. They always have the best recommendations for what I should read next or give as a gift, and a warm welcome when I pop by for a cup of coffee. Favorite place in Birmingham!

Unfortunately, my experience as a black author at Little Professor Bookstore was extremely disappointing and humiliating. Despite weeks of preparation, I arrived at the store only to be met with confusion from the staff, who had no idea who I was or that I was scheduled to do story time. As a black woman trying to amplify black narratives, it's disheartening to face such disrespect and lack of acknowledgment. It's especially hurtful when I've witnessed the store actively promoting white authors on numerous occasions. The lack of apology or recognition of their mistake only adds to the frustration. It's crucial for all voices to be heard and respected in the literary community, and unfortunately, my experience at Little Professor Bookstore fell short of that expectation. This place cultivates an amazing sense of community. My family and I love it. A great place to bring our children, a peaceful and friendly environment, excellent coffee, and the perfect place to run into old friends and make new ones.

Looked like they might have a nice selection, but the music was so loud I was unable to browse more than just a few minutes. I was a patron of the previous locations for years, and always found it a pleasant environment with great books and magazines and coffee!, so I'll try again at some point to see if things settle down.
