We were looking for good home cooking like home and found it. Very tasty large portions and fair prices. The decor was inviting and staff very friendly. The food was hot and even though they were busy it was a short wait for our meal. Worth the trip from anywhere.
Needed a keto friendly dinner after I got off work. They make a great hamburger steak with properly cooked onions. Green beans are kinda institutional but not bad. Salad was fresh and the ranch dressing is good. I always know what I'm going to get and it never disappoints. Will be back. To keep it keto I made my own dipping sauce with mayonnaise, mustard and hot sauce.
Was excited to see a "Country Cooking" restaurant. I was disappointed by the instant mashed potatoes that were bland. The creamed corn was okay but I expected them to have a little sweetness. Had to pay $2.09 for my two year olds Sprite. Her meal only cost $4.99. I feel like the drink should have been included. At a minimum it should not have cost almost half her meal. I did like that the child's plate is a dish that is separated so her food didn't mingle and she was able to scoop it out easily. The service was slow and the waitress had to keep asking me what I ordered as she handed out the food and drinks. I'm sorry I'm just impressed.
Good ole country cookin'. Dinner special $7.99 includes one meat & three sides or vegetables. Dessert, if you still have room, $2.99. Suggest trying their cornbread dressing, mac n cheese.
Very tasty meal with great service. We were looking for a family restaurant and the motel we stayed at told us about it. Glad we went there.
Stopped with a group of 26 just before lunch and they accommodated us quickly and took great care of us. Great food, southern cooking.
Service was okay, food pretty good. Dessert was allegedly big enough for two, but not even enough for one. Nothing special really.
First time to the famous Lizard’s Thicket. I had the BBQ pork basically pulled pork, which was very delicious, with a nice smoked flavor. On the side I had the collard greens, which were very good, and the macaroni and cheese, was was good but not great. I ended my meal with a slice of pecan pie, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, which I was very pleased by. The service was great, as well. Our server, when she realized the wrong side had been brought out to me green beans, which were yummy, as well, made sure I got the right side in the end. She also heated up my pie so it was nice and hot when I ate it and had me put in my dessert order before finishing my entree so the pie would be there when I’d finished. She was also very friendly. Good food, good service, and very reasonable prices—would highly recommend!
Oh wow.....this was an enjoyable breakfast ! Everything was fantastic and the service was quick and she was courteous and friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and organized and the bathroom was clean and stocked. The coffee was hot and fresh and the waitress kept my cup full. The entire breakfast came out hot and cooked near perfect. And it was very filling and we just enjoyed the atmosphere. Such a blessing to be able to have such a wonderful breakfast. Great job folk's !
Good southern style food. Not the best I've had but very good food. Collards we're very good and retained a little crispness. Fried okra was fried nice and crispy and the batter was good. Squash casserole was the best of my sides, very cheesy and creamy. The cornbread was average and the fried catfish was good. Again not the best home cooking but a great option for lunch. The service was very quick and friendly. I would definitely return if in the area again.
