I am so glad I came across this wonderful place! We bought our tickets ahead of time online and tours run on the hour. We had a private tour since no one else was there. Bob was a great and informative guide. We enjoyed seeing all the rooms and learning about the family. The tour was the perfect length and quite interesting. Then we walked around on the grounds/gardens. Highly recommend.
What a lovely tour! Just took a tour of the house, but I will be back for the combination tour of the house and gardens. The history of this house was amazing. And to think that this was the second house erected here. I'm not sure where they moved the original house to, but I will Google. The tour guide was amazing and very informed. I am so glad to come and am considering the membership.
This is truly an amazing house and even more amazing gardens! The gardens were created from 1925 to 1950 under the guidance of a pioneer landscape architect, Ellen Shipman. The guided tour of the house was really outstanding! This estate may not be in the French Quarter but we'll worth going to see!
I'm so glad I decided to randomly book a self-guided garden tour. The grounds were gorgeous and there were many scenic places to sit and take in the natural beauty. The goldfish pond was my favorite spot. I recommend visiting if you love nature.
Longvue is a gorgeous old house. Once a private property now a public space . A free Sunday once a month for Louisiana residents. The gardens are really why you go. Luxuriant ...opulent...some manicured...some wild..some edible...and old growth live oaks plenty of shady dreamy spots ..cooling fountains abound..
Visited on 9/6/22 with a group of 9 woman. House was very nice and interesting and gardens were beautiful. Would love to come back in the spring when flowers were in bloom. Would give 5 stars but gentlemen tour guide seemed a bit rude and seemed put out when anyone asked a question. However, the Staff at the visitors office /gift shop and the little Cafe were very friendly, informative and polite. Would recommend for adults & families, although younger children may get bored.
A nice place to visit. When the weather is cooler, it’d be really nice for a picnic too. We didn’t do the house tour this time, but we enjoyed the grounds.
Beautiful house amid spectacular gardens. Very romantic! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. A true hidden treasure!
This is a must see when in New Orleans if you like grand homes to your. Beautiful gardens as well. A unique pdoperty!
Shout out to tour guide Joe!!! My husband loved wondering through the gardens. Very relaxing here. Not busy on a Tuesday. Would recommend to anyone visiting.
