Visited Tacos Carnales for the first time. Ordered 2 wet Carne asada burritos, one with red sauce the other with green, and a large order of carne asada fries. The burritos were a decent size and not lacking in sauce. The green salsa was a bit tangy. The red sauce had a nice mild spice. The rice and beans were not what I was expecting. The rice seemed to be a really short grain, so it felt like little soft pebbles in my mouth, and if you're looking for refried beans, this is not the place. The carne asada had a good flavor, but I kept biting into big pieces of cartilage. The fries were good but would have been better if they weren't undercooked. Overall, it was okay.
The outside is very well kept and the front parking is VERY limited. They do however offer parking in the spaces of the business next door, there is a sign telling you that as you pull up to the parking spots. The inside is very new but, it could be WAY cleaner and seeing as it was not so busy when I walked in, it should have not been an oversight. The menu is very clear to read on some older dimly lit plasma screens, nonetheless it’s still very legible. The attendant could have been more approachable and friendly but still took my order. The cook was a dream a brought the burrito to me as I was dining in. The “Agra’s frescos” is definitely a nice touch. The salsa bar is standard, could use a bit more decoration choices so it doesn’t look so government issued. food was delicious. Price is a WAY higher than most Mexican restaurants around.
There's a small parking lot in front of the restaurant and a larger parking lot to the side. I highly recommended the larger side lot because it's easier to get in and out of. With that being said the food here was great. Got the buche, Al pastor, and carnitas tacos. My favorite of the 3 was the pastor. The meat was flavorful and juicy, holds it's own even compared to other places I've been to in the area. Second best is the carnitas. This one tasted bland and the pork wasn't crisped up for long enough in my opinion. The salsa and lemon really helped it out. Lastly there was the buche. I don't think I would go for this one again if I came here. I generally prefer cuts like lengua, cabeza, and buche. I order them regularly. This is the first time I've tasted buche that made me think something was off. Had a weird taste I couldn't put my finger on not sure if it was old or if the cut was not cleaned thoroughly before cooking. Regardless my overall experience was positive and I would come back again. Just avoid the buche is my suggestion. Parking: There's a small lot in front of the restaurant and a larger lot on the side.
Thought I should give an update since it has been a while since I reviewed this place. Still one of my favorite Mexican food places to go to around the area. In 5 years there is much change indoors, and they do also have outdoor seating if anyone prefers that as well. The food here I can usually say is pretty good.. I just think sometimes depending on who is preparing the food, it could be inconsistent. For example I ordered Al pastor tacos which are really good btw, it didn’t have any onions or cilantro, but the previous time it would have it. I would say just to try to ask for certain things just to double check you have what you need. One sad update is that they no longer sell tostadas anymore.. or at least the person that took my order told me that. This was one of my favorite items here and i am really sad they took it out.. I would still recommend this place. Just make sure if you order from the phone that you ordered at the right location since they don’t only have one location. Until next time!
Food taste great but way over priced! 1 Taco, 1 Sope, 1 torta cubana and a large agua fresca $30 and change that's ridiculous!!! Plus how convenient the cashier seemed to forget to inform me of the $1.85 charge to use my card. I'll be going elsewhere next time.Food: 4/5
The tacos are amazing. The tortillas are hand made and the meat is tasty. Not like most places were the meat is over seasoned or dry. I've also tried the asada fries which are really good as well. Will definitely be coming back.
Overpriced tacos with nothing but nerves and fat and hardly even that! Might as well pay for the tiny tortillas I never do reviews but pisses me offRecommended dishesTaco
Everything was amazing amazing customer service as soon as you walked through the door, super nice people : but it is a bit pricey but well worth it. Parking: Small parking lot
Very good, the flavor of the carnitas and chicken is delicious, and the miechlada was so good
Long time clients but honestly we are not going back. Prices went up and the quality went down. Last time we order from there all of us got sick.
