Lowell is an independent day school in the heart of NW Washington, DC. Dedicated teachers and a challenging, integrated curriculum prepare students from Pre-Primary through Middle School to become life-long learners and responsible global citizens.

Mission

Lowell's mission is to create an inclusive community of life-long learners in which each individual is valued and respected. Our charge is then to strengthen minds, ensure equity and honor individuality.

"Lowell is an independent, co-educational day school for children age 2 1/2 through 8th grade. At Lowell, students gain the knowledge, skills, and social-emotional literacy to become creative leaders and problem solvers. Dedicated teachers nurture curiosity and help children develop fundamental skills and deep, conceptual understandings through hands-on, experiential learning opportunities. A strong social curriculum complements the academic curriculum and develops the interpersonal skills, multicultural understanding, and community engagement critical for a life of active citizenship. We are committed to making sure the principles of diversity, inclusion, and equity permeate all aspects of the school vital to academic and personal growth."
