Story

MadLab Theatre and Gallery is a non-profit organization that provides an artistic haven for the creation and experience of original works. It is a laboratory where individuals and ensembles are free to experiment without censor. Each year we produce seven to eight full-length original productions including “Theatre Roulette,” the longest-running annual shorts festival in Columbus. In addition, MadLab serves emerging artists by providing an affordable, quality venue to
small arts organizations.

MadLab has been called a "Generation X-troupe with ambition and taboo-shattering imagination" (The Columbus Dispatch). Our work has been cited for an "amazing display of theatrical creativity" (The Other Paper) and has been nominated four times for the Greater Columbus Arts Council's Artistic Excellence award. And now we’re closer to downtown than ever.

With the purchase of our facility at 227 North 3rd street, we’ve solidified our position as an affordable and accessible venue for the most exciting and daring artists Central Ohio has to offer. Join the experiment and become a member today!

Went for a show on Friday, November 12th, the show was DRACULA: A FEMINIST REVENGE FANTASY…BY KATE HAMILL. Excellent play and wonderful production. This place is a hidden theatre gem in downtown Columbus.
A talented group of actors. The show we saw was a musical that was very entertaining, with a heavy theme. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to see another production.
Excellent venue with great shows. I perform improv there with some friends, check out Improv Wars when you get a chance!

What a fun place to see great local theater! We enjoyed our show and plan on coming back for future performances. Well worth it to support live theater in an intimate and personal setting.
Great little place for live theater, standup. Nestled into a spot in downtown with free parking. A lot of fun!
Very cool spot to check out local performers.
They put on pretty high quality plays. It can be hit or miss, so I do recommend a look at the reviews that can be found on Columbus Underground or in Columbus Alive before going. Generally the acting is very good, the plays are entertaining, and the atmosphere is pretty down to earth. Theater roulette can be a very enjoyable experience I would bet that you are very likely to laugh out loud at some point in the evening should you check on out.
The best local semi-pro theatre and improv in town. Go here when you want to see something original and not a tribute or overseen play or gimmick. Also, it's super cheap compared to most places in town, so it's worth the low-dough cost to see something you can't see anywhere else in town.
Amazing performances and storylines for the theater roulette. The castings could not have been better fitting for the actors, and they all did very well! Definitely will return and would recommend.
