We had a wonderful stay here. We stayed from 6/10/22 to 6/14/22. The staff were very helpful, attentive, kind, and professional. They made wonderful suggestions of things to do while in town. We stayed in one of the upper level, upstairs rooms called Vampire's Fairytale. The room was amazing. The beds were comfortable. They had both central AC and a smaller window unit in the room which worked GREAT for combating the intense Louisiana summer heat and humidity. The first person we met when we arrived was Kyle who was super helpful and even helped us unload the car and carry our bags up stairs into the building and then up stairs to our room. I will say, there are a lot of stairs if you stay in one of the upper level, upstairs rooms, but it was well worth it to stay in a beautiful, historic, Antebellum-style mansion such as this one that is over 150 years old. I grew up in a house that my mother restored that was over 100 years old and that experience has given me a great appreciation for old homes such as this one. While, yes, there are some cosmetic things that can be improved, the beauty and majesty of it's structure and age should be appreciated. It is close enough to all of the attractions to make it a quick drive or trolley ride to get there, but, at the same time, just far enough away to be able to come back and slow down when the hustle and bustle gets to be a bit much. Over all, I would give this place more than five stars if I could.
This is a spooky looking g place but the rooms are clean and the location is great. Needed a place to stay before embarking on a cruise. It was perfect. Checking in at midnight added to the ambiance. Beautiful walking tours of all the historic houses in the area are available. Check it our.Rooms: 5/5
We had a wonderful stay here. We were here to hunt ghosts, and we found them. The mansion is breathtaking and very warm. The hosts are very friendly with great hospitality. The ghosts are friendly too. We stayed in the Mardi Gras room. Had several ghostly experiences in the 2 nights we were there. All good energy. Would stay here again or even live here in a heartbeat. We hope to come back someday
It was a great place to stay why we was on our anniversary. Short staff so everything was not open the weekend we came. But was still very niceRooms: 5/5
Truly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. Courtyard room 2 was dank and musty with a bed made of plastic that loudly crinkled any time you moved. The doorknob lock also did not work to keep the door closed. All of that was tolerable in an old building, but the event that the mansion hosted for hundreds of drunk college students was not. The noise of them all walking overhead was incredibly loud and impossible to drown out, and at one point some of the guests tried getting into our room to presumably find some privacy. It made for an extremely stressful several hours and a late night till we could finally fall asleep. I had never considered leaving a hotel early until this stay. Quinn and Rita who both work at the mansion did their best to express understanding, keep the students away from our room after they tried to get in, and asked management to call about us about the awful experience, but I never heard from them. Management clearly does not care about their guests and just wants to maximize profits. This mansion should not be hosting events while also hosting hotel guests - it is not a location equipped to handle both without it coming at the expense of the other.
It’s a beautiful property but lacks cleaning and attention. Bedding and mattress need updating. Our bedding was dirty with hair! The sheets didn’t look clean. The ceiling fan had a thick layer of dust. The curtains were torn and falling apart. No waste basket in the room. Tv didn’t work, no phone, the paint is peeling off and bathroom window with mold. The thermostat doesn’t work. I believe it’s one thermostat for all bedrooms. So if you’re hot and the person in the next bedroom is cold…you got a problem. There’s no front desk. There is no one there to greet you or see you off. The courtyard is so dirty and the patio furniture is dirty. It looks abandoned. For the price you pay it’s not worth it! Please read reviews before you book!! I wish my friend and I would have! Don’t fall for the “ 1 left at this price “
This is not a hotel, it is an experience. It has a wonderful service 5 minutes from bars and restaurants. With the tram that will connect you with the entire city one block away. Rooms: They are thematic. We stayed at the Storyville Bordelo Jazz and our daughter had her own space in the room which gave us privacy.
The lady who checked us in was amazing and nice! Very pretty unique hotelRooms: 5/5
Beautiful place in the Garden District very close to the French Quarters and just a few short blocks from St. Charles Street for nice dining. I stayed for a long weekend about a month ago. Was checking on the place since IDA the hurricane and realized I didn't give it a review. Beautiful furnishings and local music in the parlor during the weekend evenings. Locals from the Garden District come to enjoy too. A wonderful stay and staff was so nice and helpful.
Spectacular house in safe and beautiful area about 2 miles from the French Quarter. Some details are missing as this is not a corporate hotel with requisite staff, but a privately-run home. The proprietor is friendly and eager-to-please, very accommodating. There is live music downstairs which is the best of local talent. The room is comfortable and we slept wonderfully over our 5 might stay. Highly recommend, and looking forward to next time.
