The small tables and live music pull you in. You see the people watching live music eating and want to be also. We got a royal croissant sandwich, a shrimp platter and 3 beignets. The fried okra was the best part in my opinion. It wasn't overpriced, but nothing special. The musicians were very thirsty for applause and tips! Kinda put offing honestly. Our food was hot and fast.
BAGGAGE FRIENDLY TOURIST ODDITIES for those kid-at-heart loved ones back home or yourself. Enjoy novel sweet treats, uniquely spiced candies, taboo & voo-doo, everything burn-your-tongue, and adorable-to-scary-gators! And if you can't get to a made-in-front-you candy shop, but need to knock Pralines off your list and you're already in the square, Magnolia Praline Company has a wide variety of creamy selections that are purchase ready & sized just right for your carry-on!
So many stores sell the pralines but only this one has an anthropomorphic alligator greeting you upon entrance. He is ornery because you can purchase the decapitated heads of his brethren within. Should you be so gauche as to procure one of these fine trophies, at least have the decency to hide them in a bag. It’s only proper.
This is a lovely store with pralines, t-shirts, beaded necklaces, pralines, souvenir shot glasses, pralines, stickers, and did I mention PRALINES? I'm not sure what a praline is, but I think it is a candy that they enjoy in New Orleans. If you like them and want them, you can buy them here, and in several other stores in the French Quarter. However, what I did find in this store that I loved was Lapel Pins. I collect lapel pins and this place had them. If you are like me and have a hard time finding lapel pins, come to the Magnolia Praline Company.
The driver kept weaving in and out of traffic including cutting in front of me and several other cars, slamming on his brakes and when I was trying to take a picture of the side of his van to get the phone # at the red light he stuck his tounge out at my daughter that was in my front passenger seat.
Beautiful store front. I am not a big fan of Praline but my wife is and she tried the bacon ones and they were not to bad at all. Not my cup of tea but still good to eat. Prices were fare for the package size I got. All in all I would try another kind if I go back down.
sells expired Magnolia boxed pralines - tasted off - beware, and it does not offer exchanges nor refunds.
Best choices an far prices can't believe how nice that they are
This place was hyped for their pralines and pralines happen to be a Nola favorite sweet craving. We took a chance on a praline cookie. Turns out our taste buds weren't catered towards honoring the pralines. But, the place is nice one to dig into if you are into pralines. They have bite sized pralines for you to purchase if you haven't tasted a praline in your lifeNO, praline ice cream doesn't count !
The smell of fresh pralines draws you in! They have a great sample station that allows you to make a decision or NOT! of what to buy. Their pecan brittle is heavenly and great for those who want something other than pralines. The staff are friendly and informative. Highly recommend picking up a box to take home!
