One of my favorite places to eat. I love their bourbon chicken and their orange chicken. The main thing I eat there over rice. It’s convenient, located in the mall so it’s close to where I live and the employees are friendly.
gets the job done.. new york city chinese food always better but this isn't that bad.. pretty good although it's not the best.. it also did go up in price but that is to be expected since it is past 2020..
Recently visited Lynnhaven mall and after a tiring shopping went to the food court.Tried Mongolian chicken and Kung pao chicken along with Noodles. Mongolian chicken was simply amazing. Service was quick and good. Will definitely visit this place again.
Food is excellent!! Employees are so nice! They're friendly and happy to help explain everything!! The prices are reasonable!! I love it!! I actually ordered a cheese steak from charleys Philly steaks next door and it was gross so I threw it out n got bourbon chicken n rice! I will be back!!
Food was good but customer service could’ve been better. I said I wanted two separate meals. I ordered 5 different things and they threw it all in the same box. My daughter wouldn’t eat her noodles or rice because it was so spicy from the Kung pao and curry that was piled on top. Wasted my money
Mandarin Express, has kept their prices the same, but they give you about a third of the amount of food. Their containers have gotten smaller, and when you get the fried rice, they put a large spoonful, in the to go box, and then proceed to push back about a third of the rice, back into the serving container. Also, warning, only get the 2 item box vs the 3 item box, because they use the same boxes for each, and you do not get more food, just less of each item. At a increased price. Also at best the food is luke warm, not even hot at all. The chicken is just scraps and pieces, not crispy at all, just soggy food. The best item, if it is fresh, are the string beans. This used to be my favorite go to place to eat at Lynnhaven Mall...so saddd....
So far I haven't tasted a similar cuisine restaurant's food that out shines Mandarin Express yet. Had the best experience with the orange chicken and bourbon chicken on fried rice. Felt like my mouth had touched gold. It's now my new favorite spot and very convenient for shopping, the movies, and Dave & Buster's arcade! It even put a smile on my picky cousin's face with the "plain tasting" Spring rolls. I almost forgot to add that the customer service was wonderful. Workers are enthusiastic and the food is always fresh and quickly served. All worth a very decent price.
Horrible place. Came with friends and and the group in front of us had a cockroach in thier food. The manager refused to do anything to fix it, thankfully we did not order food. But there was indeed a bug in this food, another bystander tried to help, there is a video online if the manager reacting but still not doing anything to correct the issue in any way. Disgusting. I placed a call to the health department. I hope others did as well. Save your money and your stomach and don't eat here! They won't even refund your money if you find a cockroach in your meal
Good food, fast service. Every eatery in the food court was jam packed with long lines and I still had my order placed and food received within 10 minutes with Mandarin Express. 3 entrees/ rice and a large drink came to $12.02. Nothing above the norm for food court prices. Will definitely go back again.
Mandarin Express is in the Lynnhaven Mall food court. I find that it isn't bad if one is looking for inexpensive Chinese. The food is okay and the portion size is good. The downside is, like many other Chinese food court places, most of the dishes have too much sugar for my liking. The way around this is to pick only the savory items, although given the limited choices in their steam trays, you may not be able to find enough items like that. On the plus side, service was very good and fast. You can have your takeout in as little as a minute if they aren't busy. I think Mandarin Express is one of the better choices among the four in this food court.
