My mother was here for about a month for PT and OT. She lacked the physical strength to stand on her own, and could barely adjust herself in the bed, as the bed had no rails to grip for leverage. She was left multiple times to lay in her own waste for up to two hours as the staff was either too busy or too callous to help her with a bedpan. She developed a UTI while she was here, likely due to the CNA being unwilling to fully clean the area. (Sandra, twice.) My father and I were told by Dr. Walters that there was nothing that could be done for my mom except make her comfortable. We removed her and got her to Moore Regional Hospital who discovered she had developed pneumonia - she was treated and began improving within days. She's now at a better facility outside Moore County and is already showing signs of improvement. Manor Care of Pinehurst - Your facility is outdated, your staff is overtaxed, and your food quality is deplorable. You tout being the best in returning people to their homes, but your demeanor and facility scream "Why haven't you died yet?"
The only reason I've rated this place at two stars is because of your nurses. The handful I spoke with were absolutely fantastic, engaging and empathetic.

If you have a loved one in this “facility”, you need to get them out ASAP! They are negligent to the patients. There is no compassion at this place what so ever. The food they are feeding these patients are horrendous. How about a piece of oily fish with a slice of sandwich bread on top and some soured milk. The employees are rude. They will talk about your loved ones in the hallway and laugh and make jokes. The call lights are barely answered. You might as well put a life alert on your loved one. I’m not sure why this place hasn’t shut down yet. It needs to be reported. Please please take my advice, do NOT put your loved ones in this establishment.

The fairly new company that took over Manorcare is not much better. No one in the admin offices know what is going on. I tried to get my mom new glasses as hers were not strong enough anymore. Every time I would attend a team treatment meeting, they would promise me they would add her to the list to see the eye doctor and get her toenails cut. Well my mom was there for 3 years and never saw an eye doctor and I can count on my one foot how many times her toenails were cut. She passed away 2 October. I miss her dearly, but I’m glad she is out of the Medicaid and the facilities. My advice, do random unannounced visits, if Amanda CNA Or Crystal is taking care of your loved one, rest easy, they are the best! If you need Hospice, go to Liberty, they helped me out literally to the last second of my mom’s
Life.

My mother was here a few years back and the service started off excellent. I wanted to make sure that she had the best care since I was not living in same state as my mom so I wanted to feel secure and I did for a very short while. I started to notice that every time I wanted to speak with my mother, no one answered this ONE CORDLESS PHONE that is shared amongst other patients and that's fine but half the time, they don't know where the phone is. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING for me so eventually I moved her out to different facility. Then I moved her to Magnolia Gardens. She was there longer than when she was at Manor Care previously. To make a long story short, I surprise visit my mom from New Jersey to check on her AND facility just to see what's going on and found them to be incompetent, lazy and mean! My mom had an accident within the facility which is due to their negligence and they quickly moved my mom (WITHOUT MY PERMISSION) back to Manor Care. She's been back there since August 2016 and their service is back to the same thing that I remember previously! It's sad that these workers (not all but most) are ONLY there for a paycheck and do care what happens to the patients. I'm working hard to get my mom in a place where I'm truly happy and to see my mom happy and cared for too. I'm also working on moving closer to be there with her too!
