Had a bowl of clam chowder here which was nice once I got it. They forgot I had ordered a bowl and the cafe was pretty empty. Had to track it down a bit later and also then wait for hot sauce which I had requested. Just seemed kind of sloppy. Coffee was just ok.

Not only do they have good cookies but they have great people working there I highly recommend it.

Affordable and tasty grab-and-go meals for when you're on the run. Great atmosphere and super convenient.

The BPL has a "proper" restaurant with linen table-cloths if you want that sort of lunch or tea, but if you're working in the Library just want a regular sandwich/soup/etc. then the Maproom cafe fits the bill and is much less hassle than leaving the building to find somewhere else. Sandwiches etc. are made fresh, not pre-prepared, so be prepared for a short wait.
