why are people so sadist about allowing others to park in their spot after they leave? why are some people so sadist that they love to make others wait or often times let others leave before they pull out from the parking space? when a person plans to leave, it doesn’t matter who parks the car or which car will be parked next? it has nothing to do with the person who is planning to pull out the car. But this lady driving her white Honda (5-02916B) remain in car and didn’t plan to leave. As soon as I found the parking somewhere else and passed her, she immediately left. wat a sadist person? i wonder wat makes them so sadist. Is it due to race? For example, she was a white American while I was not. Or is it the gender issue? so she was a woman too and sometimes human show concern to opposite sex. in general, a man would be extra sweet and polite to a woman. Similarly a woman would prefer to show kindness to a man instead of a woman. So please let me know if you’re a sadist as well as racist or misogynist. Avoid your sadistic nature and try to help others. Be helpful please. And feel free to consult a good psychiatrist who can help in bringing a positive change in you!

So let me tell you a story: My girlfriend and I are lifting near the railing on the upstairs weight deck. It is considered HFC to not be a good place to use weights; there is a sign near the railing that informs of the HFC code. I am doing bicep-curls and my girlfriend is doing stiff-leg deadlifts with dumbells. A red-headed staff member comes into view about half way through my 2nd set; I notice she is trying to say something to me, so I put my weights down and listen. She started speaking at me with a tone that emulates that of a person who just got kicked in the groin; she spoke with a condescending tone of irritation and arrogance. "You guys need to move away from the railing, there is a sign RIGHT THERE that says you can't have weights there as it is a safety hazard." - HFC staff lady. Nothing wrong with her doing her job right? Well, that would be the case if she were more respectful of me and my place as a paying member of the gym. No, she didn't ask me politely to move, nor did she excuse herself for interrupting my set...but whatever, I can look past that. Anyways, she noticed that my girlfriend was not listening to her - she was in the bottom of a rep with her headphones in - and reached for her desperately to get her to stop what she was doing. This is where I elevated my voice, telling her to not touch her, and that I would tell her what I was just told. She regressed, and then told me to "step away from the railing", with the same tone, and walked away. I told my girlfriend what she said, also informing her of her tone and how she grabbed at her. We set our weights down (in the middle of the walkway because that is how far a "step" is from the railing, as instructed) and later proceeded onto our next set. She returned. She was watching. This time her tone was more aggressive; "In case you didn't understand, you need to move away from the railing like I clearly told you to." My girlfriend this time asked her what she said, as she had her headphones in this time again. She repeated herself, reaffirming her earlier message of "move away from the railing," this time, much more hostile. So, we did. We carried on with our workout, discussing the condescending tone of her voice. We took this time to observe all of the other HFC code violations in the gym at that time that she chose not to address: 6 girls with spandex that did not cover their butt's, guys with shirts cut all the way from the top of the arm-hole down to the bottom shirt seam, and just about everyone misusing equipment. Afterwards, we noticed she was at the front desk, and decided to communicate our thoughts on her "customer service" on our way out. We approached her, and I asked if "She was the lady who confronted us upstairs" in a respectful tone; she confirmed that it was her. "I understand that we were violating code, and that it is completely okay for you to address us and inform us not to. Honestly, we are happy to oblige." I said, "But, how you spoke to us was utterly disrespectful and rude". Immediately, she lit into me, claiming that her "tone was because of how I spoke to (her)", and that "we did not listen and move away from the railing to where (she) asked". In my head, I wondered how I could have possibly upset her with my tone from the start, as her tone was hostile and she spoke first. I told her that we did in-fact "step away from the railing" as she asked. She refuted my claim, and carried on saying that I was "wrong", and that there was "miscommunication between you two (me and my girlfriend)", and that I did not inform her of the code like I said I would...which I did; I believe she was referring to when my girlfriend asked her what she said. We went back and forth, and then the red-head cut me off, turned away from us, and said "Yep, okay. Thank you. Bye." We said "Have a nice day" and went on our way.
The staff at this gym aren't very respectful. The facility is nice...just don't deadlift or someone will tell you to stop. One star for the disrespectful staff member and not enforcing the countless other HFC code violations.

Temperature in the gym is in the high 70's, does more need to be said?

During rush hour the gym is a little overcrowded, but you can still get everything done. I lifted here for many years and enjoyed the facilities. If you do run into a "bald" personal trainer he is actually a great and intelligent guy. If someone is to slam weights down like many meat heads do in an attempt to get everyones attention, you will be asked to lower the weights with somewhat control to minimize damage and noise. This is common courtesy and is asked of anyone at any gym. Overall I enjoyed my experience here while obtaining my bachelor's and master's degree.

I have worked at msu for years but have not used the gym until recently. I am very impressed with the level of instruction, the facilities, and variety of classes.
