This place is crap and the owner really needs to improve the restaurant. The goat meats were way over grilled and even hard to chew. Server wasn't very enthusiastic, like he didn't want to be there. The Ladies toilet was way dirty that you will prefer to pee on yourself than use it. Bill holder is way damaged, like the owner cannot afford to buy new ones. This place needs to shut down as it doesn't meet the Foods and location hygienic standards. Will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
This is a terrible place. They lie about their soup. They serve egusi soup with hard chicken and call it assorted meat. The egusi soup has so much palm oil it can fill half or 3/4 of a cup. The waiter guy will tell you they have something then bring you something else and be begging you to understand that they will do better next do, whose coming next time? The lady at the reception has an attitude. The waiter man will give you a lower price then time to pay the lady will give another price that is higher with same bad attitude. You will be eating at the table and they be setting up your own table for another customer that they are expecting a group of people when you have not even finished eating. It’s just a bad experience. Will never come back. Try other African restaurants if you looking for authentic African food with good service.A zero star fits this place
Service not great but food amazing.. Order the same thing for 6 years.. $10 Suya Beef, Empty $10 Jollof Rice, Side of $6 Plantain! They sell all of this separate; it should be a combination at this point for $20 with few pieces of plantains of course ‼Food: 4/5
This is what these people call suya very nasty wouldn’t give me my money back I use to come for years and they made it right and now it’s just nasty don’t waste your time if you want suya this is what you’ll get !!!
We came here to celebrate my sister in law’s birthday. Customer service was terrible from start to finish. One person received spoiled fish and another got their food 20 minutes after everyone was already served. I will never return and would definitely not recommend this place.Food: 2/5
I took my mother for her 70th birthday - Those are my findings: - The restroom is very dirty - no even soap was available - the door were literally black,,,this is how dirty it was - The goat was not even boiled in hot water and very Oily ... - The jolof rice was overcooked - the tomato sauce was just concentrating tomatoes and Oil - no flavor - Double shot of Jack Daniels Whisky + redbull - USD 29 - Plantain bananas not cooked properly They have a lot to learn about cooking African Food / Hygiene is an issue / bottle of champaign is being sold for USD 150,,,,, An African restaurant in Houston should be A rating - they do not have issues with water / power and finding ingredients....as you find anything you need - Do not waste your time and money in that place - very disappointing !!
Poor service, very rude employees, especially the lady with the braids. I would expect that when you’re family to the owners. My total was almost $20 and I was given $10 worth of food after damn near waiting am hr. I’ll never spend another dime on such an establishment but I’d thought people should know, if you’re American and want decent African food, don’t go here to be cheated and treated rudely, it made sense why all the customers at that time were African. Treat everyone the same.
The service was amazing I loved every second of it. The food was excellent, I had a craving for some cassava leaf and I’m so glad I found this place. She made my lil baby satisfied cause I slept as soon as I got home. I’ll be back!Food: 5/5
TThis restaurant deserves more than 5 stars. I had the Markarel fish; it was $25 but it is worth more than $25. The food was extremely good, very friendly staff.Food: 5/5
I walked in and placed my order egusi soup then I asked the lady how long will it take ? She replied 15 to 20 min but before I even seated for 5 min this dude just walked out and gave me a order I believe someone else ordered but never showed up I was shocked . So when I got home , opened my order it was as if I ordered red palm oil . I had to drained the oil but still got more in it n the egusi didn’t taste like real egusi soup. I’m an igbo man so I know our food way too well. I won’t say don’t go here but if you want the real deal try safar african kitchen it’s off bissonnet. I uploaded two different pictures one with oil is from Marie african fl & the other is from safari . Just for y’all to see the difference.
