Love this gym. Went to train with five other athletes and was able to squat, bench, and deadlift on competition style equipment and kilos. They have great equipment, everything is kept clean and in great condition. It’s a smaller gym but there was enough room for my party and the other usual gym goers to get a great workout in. Ms. Jean owner is the absolute best. She is sweet and welcoming and will make sure you put everything back in its place to keep the space organized. 10/10 recommend
Due to COVID hotel gyms are closed so I needed a place to workout during a week long business trip. I’ve been going to gyms for 25yrs and this one is one of the best ones if you’re a dedicated hardcore weight lifter. Weight equipment is solid, numerous, and have a great staff that’s knowledgeable and will take care of you. Don’t come here expecting to do lots of cardio as that equipment is limited.
Well equipped. Here's my story and some constructive criticism. As a new guy, the second time I went, I parked across the street because the gym side was full. In the lot across the street, spaces along the office building are marked as exclusive parking to that business, but there are no signs for the ones along the bushes. On my departure, the gym owner's wife came out very upset, informing me that I can only park there after 4:30. Said she told me before, but I really don't think so. My bad, won't do it again. The 3rd or 4th visit, I asked for a pen from the office and grabbed one of the two from the sign-in sheet, as well as a business card, to log my lifting. This resulted in a talking to about how business cards are expensive and the issue of people not signing in if there's no pen, even though I wouldn't have taken the pen if there was only one. On my most recent visit, I was deadlifting with bumpers in the Olympic room. This is bad. My first day there I had asked about a sign that says "absolutely no deadlifting..etc" because she said bumpers are okay- not steel plates, and bars are marked for no deadlifting in the Olympic room. I had also seen other folks do clean and jerks etc and asked specifically if DLs are okay with bumpers, and they thought it was fine. The room is full of Olympic lifting stations, after all. Soo, my most recent time I was in there deadlifting with bumpers by myself and she showed up very upset, asking if I was deadlifting. Saying she can't trust me, and that kids built the lifting platforms so they can't hold up to dropped weights. I had deadlifted in that room every single time with no issue until then. Looked to me like she was about to cry. This all has made be feel pretty dumb. I like the other guys that work out there and have tried of be respectful of the gym and the folks. I unfortunately won't be coming back because of my experience.. the drama is stressful, even though I'm typically pretty zen. Please type the rules on a piece of paper and go through them all on the first visit.
Stopped by for a $10 day pass while traveling. This is not an LA fitness if that is what you are looking for. Its a small power lifting gym. That being said, I had a great workout. I highly recommend
This gym was highly recommended and did not disappoint. The owners Jean and Curtis are incredible people. The energy was amazing and they have any equipment you may need!
Love this small family owned and operated gym. There is a wide selection of machines, racks, plates, benches, bars, dumbells, and accessories to choose from. They even have giant truck tires outside for flipping, farmer walks, etc. Wide range of clientele, from younger folks and regular guys like myself, to serious power lifters. The friendly atmosphere and great people who run this place make it truly special. Ms. Jean owner and Tom have made my family and I feel welcome from Day 1. Highly recommended.
This is such a great gym. From the first time I walked into here, Mrs. Jean was one of the friendliest people I had ever talked to. Everyone is eager to help and will give newcomers a hand. As far as the actual gym, it's mainly for powerlifting, but there's no reason why it isn't also a great bodybuilding gym. There are tons of great machines on top of the wide selection of barbells, and there's no shortage of plates. Only con is that it can get a little hot. Otherwise, 10/10.
Came here on vacation during my powerlifting meet prep, and I have to say it is one of my favourite gyms I’ve ever been to. Perfectly combines the old school gym atmosphere with top notch powerlifting equipment. The music that’s played here carries the same feel and I barely caught myself with my headphones in here. The owners are very nice, helpful and hospitable to all members. Wonderful place to come in and get some work done.
I worked in the fitness industry for over 15 years, competing in both powerlifting and Olympic lifting. I moved to Marietta a few months ago, after switching careers, and was so excited to see a barbell gym nearby. But since moving I have called this place SO MANY TIMES for information and no one ever answers the phone! All the other local gyms are cookie-cutter “give me your money” gyms and I was excited to possibly join somewhere smaller and more barbell oriented. Sadly I don’t believe I’ll ever even be able to get anyone on the phone
