Maryhill Fruit Stand & Orchard

I was glad to have been able to purchase a box of peaches on a Friday afternoon for a decent price. The first peach my boyfriend and I shared was pretty disappointing however, it was that soft grainy texture, and had some hard sap-like bits all inside where the pit was. Nonetheless, I waited until Monday to start cutting them up to freeze them for smoothies for the winter, hoping that the peach from Friday was just a dud. Unfortunately they were all the same. As I was driving to The Dalles later that Monday (today) to do some shopping, I thought I'd stop by to tell them what had happened, and let me tell you it was a horrible experience. My intent was to tell them about the peaches and get a simple exchange. But since I didn't have them with me the woman at the stand instantly thought I was trying to scam her out of some peaches. I was rudely told that she needed to see them for herself, then that I should not have waited two days to eat the peaches, then that they were "late harvest peaches" and tried to tell me that it was normal I guess? So after telling her that if that was indeed the case... That the texture wouldn't be like a normal peach... They should tell people. That's when she instantly became defensive and told me that she was done talking to me, to get out of her face, and to bring back the peaches for a refund. I was definitely taken back by the way in which I was treated for simply wanting an exchange for a box of peaches. I'll have to wait till next year to get fresh fruits at another fruit stand down the road from there, where they actually have samples you can try before you buy.
