Horribly run company. I ran into something that was blown into the road due to the ridiculous wind storm that came through the DMV. The very first time I talked to my Claim Representative she immediately started trying to get me to change my story and say things that would disqualify my incident from being covered under my policy. Even after I told her the story multiple times she kept trying to find ways to alter it. She also began asking questions like "Who gave you a ride home after the incident" and things that had nothing to do with my claim. My claim was denied because "I couldn't provide what I ran into" as if I was about to just run out onto the highway and pick up what I ran over after my incident. I could run an insurance company out of my home that would have better customer service than this place. Please go elsewhere!

Maryland Auto is a terribly run insurance company with a DMV - approach to insurance. I got rear ended by a driver insured with them where I was not at fault.
They are only open from 8 to 4:30. I called first thing in the morning and I was put on hold for 30 minutes. The adjustor was pretty unresponsive and hard to get a hold of, going as far as changing his phone number on me. Two months pass by and he still hasn't completed the investigation or gotten in contact with the driver. When I talked to the adjustor, all the adjustor said that they are "investigating an excluded driver." He also said the same thing to my insurance two months after I called.
I finally got them to respond to the claim when I posted a negative review on their Facebook page, and I got a response that day. Guess what? It turned out was excluded from their policy, so they denied the claim right then and there. Seriously, it shouldn't take two months to figure that out. Its annoying to wait for that long for my uninsured motorist coverage to kick in.
My best advice, if you get into an accident with one of their insured, is to go through your insurance first, and let them try to get money out of them.
Edit: I finally got my uninsured motorist deductible back 15 months after this incident occurred.

I was involved in an auto accident on 11/23/17; I have Geico, and the person that hit me has MAIF. She hit my vehicle while drunk and tried to leave the scene of the accident - the police were called, and she received several citations.
Brighid Cahill was my assigned adjuster and since the driver disputed my account of the accident, we had to wait to receive the police report before we could move forward; I provided Ms. Cahill a copy of the accident report that showed the driver is at fault, and since then she has not returned my phone calls or e-mails.
I e-mailed Ms. Cahill on 12/13/17 and 12/20/17 and I called and spoke to a colleague on 12/23/17 - she me that an e-mail would get sent to Ms. Cahill's supervisor and I someone should contact me within 24-48 hours; no one has contacted me.
