Max's Sports Bar is a small corner bar at 115 G.E. Patterson in downtown Memphis offering the best in food, drink, and all around sports entertainment. We also open early for all NCAA football, NFL, Tiger basketball, and major sporting events.

Took over an hour to get our food and when I asked why it was taking so long I was told by a staff member to go somewhere else and order a pizza if I wanted service in a timely manner. Very rude, unprofessional with negative customer service.  We paid our bill first and left a nice tip because our waitress knew we were trying to make a 1:00 escape room reservation.  We arrived at Max’s at 11:50 and had to leave at 12:55 with our food placed in “doggy bags”. Since we paid the bill and tipped before we received our meal, no one cares that we were forgotten about.   The owner of the bar  MAX, NEVER  spoke to me even though he was present during the entire ordeal.  I have family that works at the visitors bureau and they will be recommending tourists visiting  downtown NOT go to this restaurant.

First time here, but seemed like a place "everyone would know your name" if you came on the regular.   Get the pizza sub.  Great neighborhood bar.

Loved being at Max's Sports Bar!   Visiting from Los Angeles, just stumbled upon it.   For a bar, the food was so good.   The drinks were top shelf and generous.   Will be beack before going back home.

I'm from out of town and I can't remember feeling more at home. Mike and his kitchen staff came out to get to know us during the game as much as he did all of the locals who where here in force. Amazing BBQ Nachos!!!! Cheap beer and good Soundsystem. Cool locals. Great sports atmosphere!!!!

If you're looking for a great local bar, with a great bartender, fun locals and good choice of drinks and food, then Max's is the place to be.  As far as I see, no other bars nearby can beat the fun conversations you could have here with the locals, and that is entertaining to me.  Bartenders are great kudos to Mike - he's been great, the kitchen staff and others! They conversate with you, check on you regularly and remember your choice of drink even though I visit once a week, which I define as 10/10 customer service.  Definitely recommend Max's to meet people whether you're living in town or visiting from out of town.

Friendly spot. Cold beer, fair prices. Check out back for the ancient Coke sign. "Relieves Fatigue"

Loved this place. Awesome bar food menu! The Memphis dog was absolutely delicious, smothered in BBQ smoked pork. Great service. Bjarni is an awesome bartender. They have a nice back patio with heaters. And of course tons of T.V.'s for sports! Friendly local place

Great spot to go watch a game. Has that charming dive bar feel with a surprisingly great selection of bourbons, plus $2.50 PBR on tap all day, every day. Bartenders range from great to good at worst, and the food is great too. The BBQ nachos, chips & queso, specialty hot dogs, and sandwiches are all worth trying!

Went with friends to enjoy a game and this place is a nice little cozy place with loads of TVs. The person behind the counter was awesome and a super friendly guy. All in all, I will go again. I wished Purdue won the last one!

Went to see the NHL playoffs and stayed for the trivia night. Sadly, we lost. Good selection of beer with typical bar food but great atmosphere and nice people. Two thumbs up.
